I'm gonna break up with this chick I've been seeing. We have some history but have only been dating for a couple months. She's crazy about me but I'm just not into it at all.

Should I:

A) Break up with her before Valentines day so as not to continue to lead her on.

B) Sex her and break up afterwards so as not to continue to lead her on.

C) Being that it is Valentines day weekend and all, sex her like nothing is going on then break up with her this week.

I am leaning toward option C. I wouldn't be the first to break up with a chick near Valentines day, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't mind getting laid a couple more times before we break up either. Though if I put it that way, she probably would tell me to go **** myself.

I feel you Gizmo. I don't know that I have the option of not breaking this chicks heart. She is really into me. I really don't know how the Valentines day thing should come into play at all in my decision though. Seems like it would just compound the hurt. I don't foresee us being friends after this, probably just not going to happen.

Physics, I think this is probably my plan. I have been distant recently anyway, though she is not picking up on it. I really have not been returning affection, and leaving after sex even though she begs me to stay over and gets mad when I don't. I even had a conversation about how intense things were after only a short time (she had been complaining about me going out with friends and such).

I agree that it would be confusing to have a great weekend then break it off. She's not getting my signals, so I'm not sure a lack of real affection is going to make a difference. That being said, I would kind of feel like less of a bastard if I just have a meh night with her then break it off this week.

It's already the 12th as you post this, and since nothing "happened" (bad fight/found out something shocking), I don't see the urgency. If it's just general loss of interest, you didn't know that two weeks ago? You can't break up a week from now?

I don't understand the difference between B &C unless B means to break up with her directly after sex. I can't imagine doing that to someone. You didn't mention hating her.

If she's a nice girl you're just not into any more then I think another week is kinder. If there's some missing part of the story and you have contempt for her then now is good. Right after Valentine's Day sex is cruel, and I'm not even big on Valentine's.

She is a nice girl and I don't have contempt for her. She has a kid and introduced me very quickly to him, which is a factor in both my interest and me having not broken up with her sooner (package deal, imo). Thanks Blue, good answer as always.

Aww, that's too bad. I think it's a big mistake for women to introduce their kids to guys super early. It just let's the child get attached before the relationship is even established, and eventually they will have trouble bonding with people. The poor kid is going through as many break ups as the mom. Some people don't think.

She sounds like a nice girl that got over excited about you too early. I've done that before.:o

I had a buddy in a similar situation a couple years back.
He went with option C.
They are now living together with a baby that was born 9 months after Valentine's Day.

Yea, it happens to all of us. Unfortunately, we have to be honest with ourselves when we come to the realization that things aren't going to work out.

That is pretty much the psychology I subscribe to as well (regarding the kid). It may be empirically true. Fwiw she introduced me the second time we went out. My thoughts are also that because kids find their parents actions to be normal (whether it be fighting, flirting or a lack of interest/commitment), he won't get the concept of a long-term relationship. I guess it isn't my concern, but the kid has had a **** life already (his father died of a heroin overdose years ago).
