It's a bad criterion for hiring in most jobs ergo it's unreasonable.

No it's not called being an ass it's called being a human. Why the judgemental hate? If you're grandma arrived on time 87% of the time for her yoga class, that makes her an ass in your book?

Does it desturbe the rest of the yoga class?
If yes, then she is being an ass.
If u wanna go to yoga then commit urself or dont showup.
In a big sample size she cant possibly have good enough reasons to be late 13% ott

Re: My problem with people who say you need to do something 100% of the time

The boss demands that you be on time 100% of the time because it gives the maximum possible amount of times that you will be on time.

If he demanded that you make it on time 95% of the time you'd be late 1/20 days because it's ok, plus all the times you are late when you can't help it.

Telling a player to score 100% of free-throws is a going to achieve the highest % scored. Telling a player he only has to make 50% is going to result in him making <50%. Even if 50% is acceptable, making a rule of trying to make 100% is better.

A boss saying to a employee that he is hiring that he expects him/her to show up on time atleast 90% of the time would be a rediculous thing to do.

DUCY?

99% of the time with 0% effort you wont lose your wallet or get hit crossing the street.

being on time is a completely different argument.

Under this scenario then you would not have met his 95% criterion.

she is still an ass ...

if she has yoga on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 pm
she nows whats the traffic like ... she knows exactly how she is getting there and how much time she needs.

so anything above 2% is being an ass
and we have this 2% for accidents/ unpredictable stuff

why r u so caught up with the exact number.

she can be late only for a reason , good reasons are accidents and unpredictable events.

if u have a flat tire of course u r gonna be late.

but things like that should not happen more then 1:50
at least in my experience....

and if u r late 1:10 u r being a douche

Im not concerned with the exact number at all. That's my point. You're the one who said if someone isn't following a certain number they are an ass, not me.
