Actually i took the milk back out of the refrigerator before making the post and quickly snapped a shot.

I might be able to accomplish a TR w/ chick pics. I'll see if my wife agrees to do something with the milk.

This exact situation has been posted in H&F, like, at least twice.

It's fine, 3hrs is nothing. Smell it before you drink it, if it smells fine it is fine - sour milk doesn't make you ill anyway, it just tastes like ****.

With that said, if I turn out to be wrong and you end up hurling to within an inch of your life, a TR would be great cheers.

i used to sit down with a box of cereal and open milk and house like 6 bowls when i was younger then sit there watching tv till i didn't hurt too much to walk again, this was def at least an hour and a half and its always been fine. I don't think anything at all would be wrong with it if u hadn't even opened it yet.

Leaving a full gallon of milk out on the counter in a hot kitchen with the lid on all day (while you are at work) makes for an excellent greeting when you walk in the door.

you should be fine, depends on how long the milk stayed at room temperature. usually more than 4 hours is bad. 3 is marginally ok.

i work in the dairy department of a grocery store so i kinda know the answer
for every hour out of refrigeration it loses 1 day off of its shelf life so ur good to go

I just opened the milk and gave some to my test subjects. If they are still alive in the morning I will consider the milk ok for human consumption

put it in the freezer for 45 minutes then microwave it for 4-5 minutes. this will destroy Class A bacteria which can survive only in warm temperatures as well as Class B bacteria which can only survive in cold temperatures.

After you take it out of the microwave put it in the fridge, DO NOT DRINK IT UNTIL IT IS COLD AGAIN

I always have to put the milk away before even unloading the rest of the groceries, i'm weird that way.

However if it still felt cold then your prob ok, also if you drink it all within a few days your prob ok.

So after extensive scientific study, I've concluded that the milk is most likely ok to drink. My test subjects were both still alive this morning and other than the look of utter contempt on their faces they seemed healthy. The grey one threw up sometime overnight but that happens fairly regularly.
