Re: ITT we become less chunky

I was reading about ketogenic diet use in patients with intractable epilepsy as an effort to mimic the state the body goes into during fasting. The goal is to have the body use fatty acids for fuel as opposed to glucose (as is what happens with fasting). It isn't a cure-all, but studies do show that the KD helps lower seizure activity with some epileptics being able to come off their anticonvulsant medications.

lol. Would be a terrible way to live, but I guess it probably beats having electrodes implanted in your brain while you're young.

Don't forget Biggest Loser is on tonight 8:00pm set your DVR

Fiber One cereal for breakfast. It has 14 grams of fiber for half a cup and only 60 calories- I had about 1.5 cups

Did some squats today 4 sets of ten reps also some military presses.

Mackerel - One can 15 oz - has 104 grams of protein / 160% daily calcium requirement and the good omega 3 fat. 540 calories

Ran for approximately 2.5 miles - wow! it was hot out there.

Tonight: I'll be having 8oz new york strip and hopefully that's it. I feel stuffed right now

Good luck all - and Moar hot pics

oh me too - i'd rather kill my body working out than count calories but it happens faster if i do both.

nice tip - heard that before but have never actually tried it. maybe i can fool my kids with that this weekend.

remember muscle weighs more than fat, so in reality you body is adjusting to fat burning and muscle gaining, so looking at the scale everyday is pointless and can upset you if your not seeing a derect result in numbers. mabye step on the scale once a week max. remember you said your fitting in your pants better so right there is proof your tightening up.

Re: ITT we become less chunky

After reading through this whole thread, I feel a little bit more motivated to start doing more cardio and weight lifting. I'm currently not playing softball atm so I really haven't been doing anything too active. I really don't think I need to lose weight (6ft maybe 170), just need to tone up some and get back in shape. My diet isn't too bad. I like all fruits and veggies and literally don't consume any sugars or sweets.

Working out just takes self control and motivation, something which I am lacking. All of your ideas/stories just really got me thinking that I know I can do this. I just need to focus. Maybe I'll post some pics to show progress. Thanks everyone itt. #teamfitspo

I don't even use the scale anymore. It's just an arbitrary number. I'm a fat guy, and according to the BMI scale I'm OBESE. Yet, I can run 10k, climb stuff and do pull ups.

You can't explain that.
