No idea yet, but it has to be within the next 6 weeks I assume.
Will tomorrow call for appointments with other lawyers. Got a legal costs insurance so even if I have to chose one that isn't covered by insurance, I can get a free first meeting with every them because that's their duty to do that for a flat fee or something.

I gonna need good book recommendations. seriously.

My friend got a year of monitoring after making a middle school wet himself by pulling a gun on him.

Ok, as I start to think about what bad things I did in my life to deserve this. As I somehow thought there might be something similar to the concept of Karma or so.
I once pretented to be interested in buying an Bentley GT Speed and the salesguy who came with me at the test drive was ok with me going 320kmh/190mph for a few seconds in it in Austria, where the general speed limit is 130kmh/80 mph.
Autobahn was all clear tho, and while going that fast in that car you feel like you could lounge back and relax, have a fine cherry in your left and a good cigar in your right, without being bothered by the smoke, without even noticing that the air condition is running, or you're going ****ing 200 mph.

In Search of Respect: Selling Crack in El Barrio (Philippe Bourgois)

A true story about an anthropologist living in the East Harlem ghetto who befriends a group of crack dealers and writes a book about them. Basically why they sell crack and why most can't get a real job, why they are living that life, etc. It was a very good read and super informative/interesting. I would recommend it to anybody.

Totally insane at 4:30

As appreciation for the trainer I had. The most awesome wet lap on the ring ever. You probably have no idea how fast he's really going under those conditions, but it's ****ing insane and makes you vomit if you're sensitive on the passenger seat.

Last edited by wellju; 11-28-2010 at 04:42 PM. Reason: Even tho the lap is very slow, because of the drifting, ldo

While my ride is faster on paper, those guys and this gurl have way more miles on the Ring than I do. So even I set down some very decent laps for an amateur, they're faster without a passenger and semis.

>2.5 years is mondo stiff- worst case, street racing would get u 30-60 days in county jail, provided there's no injuries/fatalities involved.

I really have no ****ing idea what to do. How do I tell my parents, what should prevent me from going on ****ing lifetilt for the next couple of weeks running around with an HIV positive syringe and let out my frustration, because that just feels so wrong.

While I agree that street racing is dangerous and public safety needs to be protected, there has to be a difference between idiots revving up at the traffic lights and doing drag races in traffic and what we did.

We are a group of 6-7 people with the same hobby. Besides one person, no one ever had a car accident. We got to know each other at a track day and took the same, professional racing lessons for a couple of months.

There's only one reason we race on public roads instead of a real race track sometimes in Winter. They clean the tracks from snow, and well, RWD on a snowy road is ****ing addictive.

I'd wager that all of us are very relaxed drivers in traffic. We take our cars to the track, driving 20mph too fast in the city isn't really a challenge. No traffic light races, no speeding on roads with public traffic.

It's like someone who does martial arts is less likely to use his skills in an drunken stupid barfight, but rather competes in real fights to challenge himself.

I don't feel like racing on guaruanteed traffic-free roads is worse than rape.
Hell, most female blondes in 60bhp cars are way more of a threat to others than what we did, imo.
I agree with everything you say here...unfortunately, you knew what you were doing was against the law and you willingly took the risk. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Here's what your gona do Wellju

- Fake your own death
- Hide out in a log cabin in the Austrian alps for a few months
- Resurface in Germany and change name to Hanz
- Live long and prosper

Problem solved.
