best case scenario is nothing happens, worst case is that you get in legal trouble

i'd personally just give it to a homeless kid or something to ease your conscience.

1. Give the teddy bear to toys for tots or another charitable organization that is looking for things for kids. You don't want this thing looking at you.

2. Go to the store. Explain that "someone" stole "something" "some time ago" from their store and they want to make it right. Tell them you don't know exactly when or what, nor did you press for those details. Give them a little more (round up to the nearest $10) so they don't start looking at their tapes for the bear specifically. Tell them "someone" needs to have their conscience cleared. Enough of that is true.
