Another golden tip; for when you actually go on a date with a girl:
At some point you will HAVE to introduce the topic of sex.
This is where most guy **** up whatever they had going for them.

Most women are fine and jolly talking to you, until you utter the word sex, at this point their radar goes off and the defence comes up.

The ONLY way to avoid this, is doing so indirectly.
Personally I have found that a funny anekdote on the topic of sex, about someone you know personally or through a friend works the best.
It combines humour with subtly introducing sex. Often a girl will be waiting for you to bring about the topic, but do it in the wrong way and you're done.

Be sure to make the way you tell it elaborate, and concentrate on speaking slowly, articulating thouroughly, and talking in a deep bass voice that comes from your chest.

The one I go with is:

"Oh yeah my sister is totally crazy.. this one time during the summer holidays, I was home alone with my sister and her boyfriend because the three of us were working a summer job close to my house. I was watching a movie on tv, and at some point I faintly hear these noises like `aahh, ooh, mmmm, mmaahh´ (I do an impression of a female voice but take it over the top to make it somewhat comical). So I got confused and turned up the television.. nope.
I turn down the volume and I can hear my sister scream through 3 thick wooden doors and a ceiling. I got ticked off, so I just opened the closest door and screamed up to her "Can you please **** a little less loudly? I'm trying to watch a movie here...".

This works supremely good for me, I'm in a steady relationship with a bisexual girl right now, but the previous 3 years I slept with over 60% of the girls I met up with.

what girls look for when a guy approaches them:

-do i think he's cute? (you can screw a lot of things up when talking to a girl, but if i think you are cute i'm willing to overlook quite a bit)
-what kind of shoes is he wearing?

little known fact but one of the first things girls look at on a guy is his footwear.

frequently a first impression report will go like this:
me: "i met this super cute guy at starbucks the other day. he smiled at me but seemed kind of shy. i was going to talk to him and then i noticed he was wearing those horrible white reeboks."
my friend: "omg, i hate those. why do guys wear those?"
me: "i dunno, but total deal breaker."

switch those shoes to adidas superstar II and i start talking to you.

say yes to: classic kicks of any kind, nice dress shoes (no pointy toes tho) and nice (not sweat-stained or stinky) flip flops. ***

say no to: white running shoes of any kind, cowboy boots, tevas or any other kind of sandal, birkenstocks, etc.

i don't know who these girls are that fall for the pua line or any other weirdo rico/suave bs, but i don't have any friends who do.
in all the times a guy has tried to pick me up, i know before he ever talks to me if i am going to be open to communication from him. and he doesn't have to look like brad pitt, just have good personal style and seem to be genuine.

girls want to meet guys. when you come at us spewing all sorts of bs, it's boring and annoying.

oh its definitely good to have some good input from girls in this thread. This sucks for me though cause I have no sense of style and I have like 1 pair of shoes and its sneakers. All I wear is t-shirts and jeans and sweatpants.

If it hasn't been asked - how do you deal with situations where the girl has a boyfriend? Does she just make this obvious immediately and the conversation ends? I kind of fear that all women have boyfriends and I feel like I'm going to inconvenience them / embarrass myself. Probably an irrational fear I know.

Also, I don't get the part about inviting her to watch you play poker. That seems pretty egotistical and likely boring for her.

Bleh. I hear so many reasons from guys here and more so irl of why it isn't going to work. That kind of negative attitude is poison for any sort of pickup situation and you're absolutely defeating yourself before you even start. These guys practically reek of insecurity and if a dude in tune with pickup can sense it, you can pretty much book it that any woman out there can sense it. They're just way more in tune to that sort of thing than the average guy.

Instead of telling yourself why it can't work, you need to spend some time getting right with yourself. If you think you're too fat get your ass in the gym. If you think your style sucks, get someone in your life that has good style and have them help you out a little bit. If you're a boring ****tard how about you read a damn book.

Anything worth anything is going to take an initial investment, whether it's energy, time, money or a combination of all of them. But even a small amount of an investment in yourself is going to help you have the confidence to get out there and not give two ****s about running into a flake that, honestly, was probably not good enough for you anyway.

Not to pick on you dude, but I disagree with near everything you have written. I've quoted the specific parts to address them individually.

First off, pretty much every seriously experienced guy at day game in pick up community agrees that opening direct with a compliment is best. Janka has done over 10,000 approaches, Soul 4,000, and every other experienced guy would agree.

You actually demonstrate confidence and assertiveness by doing this. The fact is, average men simply do not have the balls to walk up to a girl in the middle of the day and say something that direct. Done correctly you wind up sticking out in her memory a hell of a lot more than any guy she's met recently. Additionally, when you walk up to a woman in the middle of the day and start chatting she knows you're hitting on her, and they often prefer you just come out and say it then pussy foot around with something less direct.

When it comes to your kitten line, I have a policy of not blatantly making things up in order to chat up girls. Considering I'm going to try her back to my apartment at some point, the jig is gonna be up pretty fast when there's no kitten there.

As far as bringing up sex goes, there are tons of ways of doing it. I often do it highly directly. I've had conversations with girls (not when I go approach them during the day, but certainly on dates or in bar/clubs/social situations) where I said things like "Of course I'm trying to sleep with you, I'm a guy and you're an attractive girl. I'm not going to condescend to you by pretending I'm not interested in that, and if you think about it you should be a hell of a lot more concerned with the idea of my not trying to sleep with you than the opposite."

Keep in mind that at some point I'm going to have to tell girls that I keep a blog that chronicles my drug use and sex life, so the faster I can bring up sex and reduce the pressure and stigma of the issue the better.

The problem with quaint little phrases like this is that they don't actually mean anything. If every guy who sucked with women could have his problems solved by someone saying "Hey dude, just be confident and be yourself, it's all good" then no guy on this planet would suck with girls. I agree. That's why when I write things like this I try to take as many "PUA" elements out of it as possible. I don't use their terms and I drop all the **** that they are notorious for.

I hope the term "PUA" is eventually totally tossed out because there's so much negative stigma attached to it that people immediately brand you a weirdo if they find out you are in any way involved with it.

I addressed the BF issue in an earlier post. I thought the poker thing would be a terrible date too, until it happened by accident and we had an awesome day together.

Basically I tell the girl my work is a bit boring and she should help keep me distracted. I have food either available or order it, plenty of drinks in the house, movies and TV to watch, and I spend my mental energy focused on her and not my tables (it's probably not good for my equity, but w/e.) Also, women like seeing your passion and ambition in life, and they aren't particularly concerned about what on.

Keep in mind, I'm not gonna invite a woman over at the start of my eight hour session. I'll have her over for the last few hours and keep her engaged. It's more like just hanging out at my place.

I think with the poker date thing, the girls are interested in it and they initiate that they want to watch you play or whatever. I dont think ive seen a guy say hey wanna come watch me play poker, but the girl is very interested in it and wants to see that part of your life and what u do.


In regards to Bond's post below, I totally agree with that people outside of poker are very fascinated by it. When meeting new people and they find out I play poker...99/100 they will seem interested in it and ask me questions.

Sitting behind my computer all day alone is boring. Her being there makes it not boring. In my experience, people outside of poker actually find our job fascinating and when she inevitably asks me about it I'm going to be able to describe what I like about it and what I do quite eloquently.

Additionally, the day of hanging out is not about poker. It's about getting to know each other.
