This is what I'm saying wont happen. The only way the men would kill the lion is if they could hit it all at once as an entire group. The lion simply wont let itself be cornered, as the men will have to keep pretty close together to have a shot, and long before the men push the lion into a corner it will go into panic mode and simply go into ape **** mode, or just run threw the line.

and i stick to my point that the lion isn't going to actively engage 20 guys in tight formation

so basically the men would ONLY engage the lion if it looks at though they can get it into some sort of area (corner, against a wall) where they can flank it comfortably and bring their numbers to bear.

if they can't, it would just be a stalemate.

but then the men could attack the lion while it sleeps. the reverse situation wouldn't occur because there could be some sort of sleep rotations so a few people are always on guard to monitor where the lion is.

I agree, we obv have a difference on what you mean here. I maintain that in a gym sized empty room 20 men cant corner a lion and stay "tightly packed." The lion will simply out move them if it wants to.

Once they men spread out into any sort of formation capable of backing the lion into the corner, they are now spread to thin to hold it there

ok heres the situation: you're naked, and you see someone with a huge gash in their leg.
aside from leading them in prayer theres really not much you can do. you don't even have a shirt to make a bandage.
ok a muscular leg is not a good weapon, to remove the bone it would take a lot of effort, but more importantly, time.
sticks? long objects? no. if this is outside there would be rocks, but this is in a big empty area. also: inflict internal injuries? how to you intend to go about that?
if its cornered its not just going to sit there. It will know it has to strike.

I don't know about the whole "well its not a trained lion" argument about fighting. If you watched the video, this is pretty much what a 550 pound lion does: run at you at 40 MPH and bite your face off. seriously. that speed and weight is enough to knock down 20 people in tight formation, then the lion would just go at it. they're "trained" by instinct.

the main problem is that its too hard to injure the lion. eyes yes, but even a blind lion could destroy 5 people. touch it and you die. And you're not going to be able to get in a good gouge due to its ability to turn its head away with extreme strength

also I'll specify that the area they're fighting on is made of rubber: the lion will have traction.
