Who wins? It is a fist fight with no outside weapons. My roommate is deadset that the marine would win. I think he is the stupidest person in the world.

these questions are always ******ed. if they are both skilled fighters, and within a weight class of each other then anything is possible. there are too many variables
now if you want to put lesnar up than yeah, i dont think there is a marine out there that can win that fight more than once or twice in ten tries

Questions like this rely entirely on pride and mythology, and both MMA and the armed forces are stuffed to the gills with them.

But the simple fact is that you can't put someone with a few months of training against someone with a few years of training, on average, and expect a victory for the less trained guy (who may not even ever have been very interested in hand to hand combat or talented at it in the first place).

Sorry, beautiful dreamers. Yeah yeah, bootcamp. Sorry. It's not enough.

That said, thank you for your service. Give you a rifle and radios, and I'll put any local militia or gangland wannabe's impossibly far behind. But that's not what we're talking about here.

exactly, I don't think people realize how much of a sport MMA is. The more you practice. the better you become at said sport. UFC are the absolute best at their sport and a marine who doesn't put in the intense hours to train at the sport of MMA is not going to stand a chance against one of the best in the nation.

Wouldn't a Marine who could be the **** out of a UFC fighter not join the marines, get paid donkey balls, work 17 hour days, risk his life, and instead be a professional UFC fighter

Top MMA fighters train 6 hours plus a day every day, how can you compare that to the training the marine gets?

think about the hundreds of hours an MMA fighter spends training on each part of his game! compare that to training to fight an afghan who hasnt eaten properly in 4 weeks!

whoever is the better fighter would win, really dumb question. Anyone can be a marine if they are physically and mentally prepared, doesn't mean you are a fighter though. Sure you will come out tougher but if you weren't a fighter before you went in, how are you going to beat a prof fighter, who was already tough, in a fight.

Question may as well be who would win in a fight. A marine or someone who drives a bus.

depends on the UFC fighter....

if we're talkin about anderson silva, the marine is getting spanked. chris leben prob couldn't take a marine tho.

This imo, from what I see from USA everyone who was in the services is an ex-marine lol, that's why I want to specify if we mean US marine or Royal Marine (or marine animal... a whale would kick a UFC fighter's butt!)

isnt the whole point of the military and the millions they spend per individual to train them, aimed at making these guys trained killers? It is also the smallest branch of the military.

Yeah but normal soldiers are also trained killers. Don't have to be a marine to do that.
