Shrug. There are a lot of reasons why women (or people) gain weight. I don't think any woman consciously goes, "aha! I've got you now so I can let myself go!" But I do think that being with someone can lead to weight gain. You go from a lot of free time and a lot of personal control over your diet to being with someone else more often and losing some free time. Plus, living with someone they may have food in the house you never would have yourself and/or you may go out to eat a lot more often. A lot of people in relationships gain weight, it's not always just the women.
Women will gain weight because they're depressed, that's usually what you can find in people who are obese, not the pleasantly plump girls though (imo), and this isn't the only reason, obviously. But emotional eating is real and a lot of people will eat their feelings.
I personally feel bad for anyone who gains weight/is over weight because of the damage it does to your body and I think fitness and diet should obviously be more important to every one. Being fat just simply isn't good for you. The same way being terrible malnourished and under weight is bad for you. People need to take care of themselves.
