It's pretty simple actually if you know a little bit about PUA stuff.
Women don't spend all that time in the bathroom getting ready before going out of the house for nothing. They do it to attract attention FROM MEN. They do it to stay competitive with all the other sloots in the world who do the same thing everyday. Looking good for men is a competitive sport to a woman.
When a woman finds herself a nice guy chump who doesn't demand much of her she no longer has to work to look good. She no longer has to dress sexy, work out, not get fat. She knows she has a nice guy in her clutches who isn't very demanding AND DOESN'T HAVE A LOT OF OPTIONS (isn't a guy who is a player or could drop her for a better woman)
The key here is that all these women who go from hot to fat usually do it because they found themselves a nice guy who isn't demanding of them/doesn't have a lot of options when it comes to women. This makes women become lazy as they no longer have to work hard to be competitive with all other women. They already found themselves a "good man" that will put up with all their bs.
A related situation happens when guys move in with their girlfriends. As much as a red flag and trap situation this is guys still refuse to listen and still move in with their gf's. Later they find out that moving in with a girlfriend ruins relationships. The sex stops even though you're living together, the passion ends, the fun ends and soon after you can't stand each other.
Why does this happen? Because your gf now has you in her clutches. She doesn't see a threat of other women getting to you where she can easily monitor you, she doesn't have to be as sexy as can be to keep you with her as you are now living with her. She can now restrict your access to p***sy and make your life miserable.
The same thing happens in marriage
Where you went from having hot sex multiple times a week with your gf (now wife), now your lucky to have sex once a month. She has you in her clutches she doesn't have to work hard to keep you. That's how women roll.

Your gf gets fat if she sees you as a nice guy chump who doesn't demand a thing from her and doesn't have other options (other women). This leads to a woman becoming comfortable in the relationship as she no longer needs to stay competitive by looking good as when she was single. She sees in you a guy who she has in total control and will likely not drop her for something better. She is totally comfortable in the relationship.
Whatever you do never move in with your girlfriend unless you want the passion, sex and fun to stop, and the relationship to go downhill.
