When you play poker and you win it feels great. When you gamble the rent money and win its a different level of ecstasy. Calling in sick to work yesterday was me taking control of my life. Up 740 yesterday at the 200 game. It feels like this is never going to end. No fear.

I've noticed that when I am not in a hand I am able to better figure out what the other player's cards are. And I realized thats because when I'm in the hand I'm emotionally involved and thinking its personal. It's not, I need to take myself out of the equation and come to the right conclusion. Based on table dynamics, the hand, the action, etc.

lost 235 today. i had 22 limped in an 8 way family pot. Flop is A42 rainbow a few checks to me i bet 20 guy on my left raises to 60 with about 60 behind next guy makes it 200 and im seriously worried about 44 or 53. Well I call all-in for 175 more so does guy on my left. Turn 7 River 4. Guy on my left had A7 lol and other guy has A4. Damnit!!!!. He hit a boat on the river to beat me. Variance sucks. I was feeling a little tilted so I just decide to call it an early day. I will play through it next time.

For sure. Here's a good tip. When faced with an all-in bet from your opponent try to talk to them to get a reaction. Say you have KK and your opponent shoved all-in on an ace high flop. It's either or, either he has an ace or he is bluffing, so its a way ahead or way behind scenario. Normally I would fold here without more info. But ask the guy "you hit the ace?" And if he gives off a nervous laugh. He is bluffing. That tell is almost 100% accurate. If he had an ace and knows your contemplating calling with an underpair most people go silent and start praying internally for a call.

Still up 950 or so. The tilting part about losing the set of deuces was everyones reaction at the table after the hand. I swear it was like none of them had ever seen something so amazing. They were all acting like it was the most spectacular thing they had ever witnessed. It was just a hand of poker for ****s sake.

I really wish you the best at what point will you feel satisfied and not put all your cash on the line. Don't you feel like you can still take the safer route and just set your self up with a 1 or 2 year plan and get where you want to be. I mean if the the run good play good ends your back in the tent and you might repeat the cycle for a while before you get a good streak to hold up. Not being a life nit just don't want to see you get destroyed emotionally.

Nah I cant wait. I have a plan to make some money on the side with my own business. More on that later. I know how crappy living in the tent is and how awesome my living situation now is but I'm willing to risk it to have it all and live the dream. I hate having a job and I'm done living like that. I started with -$11 in my bank account when I cashed my first check for 780. I dont have hardly any money all of it is going to poker all the time. But I'm only buying in $200 at a time at this point. I won 165 two days ago and I won 250 yesterday. Things are working out well so far...

What makes me a successful poker player is that I have a knack for getting people to call down light against me. I'm not exactly sure what it is even. If I had to put a finger on it I think it's because of my serious demeanor at the table. I am friendly and talk with people at the table, but never about poker and never while I am in a hand. That is very important. Players who talk about strategy at the table are making a mistake. You are basically broadcasting information for no reason other than to embellish your own ability and feel good about yourself. Don't do it. And while you have a hand you should basically be a mute unless you want to announce raise or call for whatever reason. Also, never show your cards. Your opponents will want to see your cards and if you keep winning without a showdown eventually they might look you up with something they shouldn't. And be deliberate in your actions. Take as long as you need to think and figure things out before you act, count out your bets and raises first.

Monday's soup of the day is lentil soup at the Commerce. Delicious. Up 395 yesterday. I'm recording all of my sessions and I'm also writing down how many hours played and I am grading myself on how well I think I played. Adding the last two parts is important I think to keep myself accountable and it may get me to play longer and better if I know I'm going to have to write it down. Or at least I'll be able to see how I'm doing better than just +-'s.

I will offer my insight

I like putting seat all the way back, staying in driver seat, just the right amount of trash in passanger seat (at least 4-5 empty 1gallon green teas)
Put heat about half way, if its on too high you will wake up sweating.
cracking window is essential
works best for vans for sure.
i use a 2001 mercury grand marquis now
