I'm not really an insect expert, but I'm guessing there's probably more bugs at abandoned camp sites than in apartments.

gonna get sunburned like crazy trying that. even in the shade i think you can still get burnt. im already getting a bit of a tan being outside so much.

i ran cross country in high school and i would run up hiking trails and stuff. my friends and i camped up there like 15 years ago. we didnt have a tent we just laid on the ground in our sleeping bags like idiots. we had a cup of rubbing alcohol with a sock in it and were using that as a candle of sorts. when the fire went out i noticed a mountain lion was circling where we were laying about 100 yards away. me and 2 other friends got a knife a shovel and a rock to fight it if it came any closer. our 4th friend was unafraid and said he would fight it with his hands if it attacked us and went to sleep.

mosquitoes are attracted to standing water and the place i was staying at had a bunch of people so there was always water sitting around in the bathroom in the tub or the sink or the floor. there were a bunch of mosquitoes in the bathroom and i saw one in my room. i was exposed to these mosquitoes when i slept or stood still for a second. but when i get in my tent and close everything up, no bugs can get in. i see spiders and other bugs crawling on the outside sometimes and the occasional bug inside that must get in when i open the flap. and i dont mind an occasional bug bite or two but this house i was living at i must have gotten 50 bug bites or something ridiculous like that.

An umbrella and long sleeves should be plenty of protection.

So the other day I got woke up by police. Apparently some jerk-off called the police on me? So here's a question for all the law experts if I haven't commited a crime or anything are police allowed to ask for my ID? They did and I gave it to them, but should I have asked why? I wasn't breaking any laws. I kind of felt like Rambo in the beginning of First Blood when he gets drove to the edge of town police.....why you pushing me?

Oh the good ole days. Back when everything was different. I had some money. I had hope. I was living my way going to the casino every day and winning frequently. Fun times. Now I have a job driving a bus and I barely make enough money to pay my rent and haven't had enough to take to the casino. It is so disheartening. I feel like all my time is wasted and it is killing my soul to have to go to work everyday and make crap. So with my paycheck next week we're putting it all into poker!

So tomorrow I'm getting my paycheck and after work I'm heading to the Commerce Casino! It's time to run pure. I can beat the $200 game at the Commerce easy. I made my bones at 40bb poker. Friday and Saturday nights at Commerce are great. People drinking, players who just started playing. And with the wsop table showing this last Sunday there will probably be some good action. I'm excited to play. Let's hope things work out well for me cause if not I could end up back in the tent. And what's really sick is I love my apartment and my roomate is my good friend that I've known for 15 years. So I'm really putting it all out there to win.

What a roller coaster tonight. When I first got to the Commerce I put my name down for the $200 and its taking a while and i hear from across the room $300 seat open no waiting. Thats my cue. So I stroll over to an empty seat in the $300-$500 buy in $5-$5 blinds NLHE game. I recognize a couple of solid players at the table and I'm ready to gamble. Early on I get AKos in early position and I raise to $30 and get 2 callers the flop is QJ9 with two hearts check to me, I check, button checks. Turn is a 7 not heart Check to me I bet 75 because I feel that should take it down and the button raises to 225 fold to me and I seriously consider shipping even though I'm only behind such a small amount the guy can never fold. It just felt like to me I was good. But I considered he could have been pushing with a draw and a pair like JT or T9 and I decide to fold. He later talks about the hand and reveals he had 86 hearts and from what I could tell he seemed to be telling the truth.

So I could have got involved but I would have had to get lucky to hold and I remembered something Sklansky says in Theory of Poker about how one night he was gambling with a drunk who was going to give their money away and he commited his whole bankroll essentially as a 6-5 favorite simply because he knew he was ahead. He got unlucky and lost and later realized he could have waited for a better spot even though he was a favorite. So considering everything I wish I had gone with my gut and played it but being underrolled I think folding is reasonable.

A while later I get two red aces UTg and lead out for $30 again one solid reg calls and the big blind reraises to 75 total. I think for a few secs before anouncing all in and he has KK and calls doubling me up. Easy game.

So I had a nice profit of 380 or so and was about to leave when a complete ATM shows up to the table. My "last hand" I was UTG and it was this guys first hand. He limped and check raised a 35 bet to 100. and told the guy if you go all in im calling and sure enough thats what happened. Original bettor had AK and wins and XRer has 86 suited. All in 3 hundo with 86. So I decide I cant leave yet and post the big blind for next hand.

The thing is with a player that is just giving away chips like that, its a race to get his chips before the other players do. Because obviously his style of play is unsustainable and he wont be there for long. That's means its time to come out of nit mode and put some chips in the middle. So the new maniac raises to 25 from UTG and gets 4 callers when it comes to me. I look down and see ATos. If this guy is going to get it all-in with 86s then ATos is fine to get it in with against him. And with my tight image and all the dead money out there I want to isolate this guy. An all-in here may get the others to fold a slightly better hand small pair maybe AJ. So I go all-in for ~850. New guy calls all-in 300 everyone else reluctantly folds. Of course the maniac has 53hh and smacks a 3 on the flop to win it. Sigh. A while later I get ATos again and limp in. This guy is raising every hand preflop. He makes it 30 and gets 1 other caller and me. Flop is A97 perfect for me I'm not going anywhere. Check, check check on the flop. Turn is baby spade making 2 spades. Check, check, he bets 75. I call real fast trying to project weakness by acting like im not afraid to make that call hoping to induce another bluff on the river. The river comes a 7 and I hesitate before checking, hoping he will think I'm trying to get him to check back with my hesitation. He bites and bets 200 which I pretty much snap call. No decision for me. I ended the session up 470 and my only regret is leaving to get up in the morning to drive a bus. I should have kept playing with the guy and just quit my job lol. Soon enough. Soon enough...

I ended up calling in sick to work today. Eff it. Driving a bus for 10 hours plus commute is terrible way to spend such a beautiful day. I will figure out another way to make money.
