Labor Day weekend 1987 I saw The Cult in the Long Beach Arena; I was visiting friend who'd just graduated from USC. First concert I'd been to where they sold beer so that was nice and the Cult were great, tho I was disappointed they played Born To Be Wild instead of Gimme Shelter.

Many in the crowd seemed to be there for the opening band whom I'd never heard of. They were OK, great lead guitarist, but terrible screechy lead singer imo.

Love, Electric & Sonic Temple is a pretty great run. Wish I'd've seen Ian when he toured with the Doors.

The skreechy lead singer went to the same HS as me.
