It gets better. FEMA, shipped me like 25k for being displaced after 9/11. Paid all my rent while I was in grad school. The slumlord that owned the place, was over charging me. Place was rent stabalized and he had increased it more than the legal amount between tenants. So I sued him ... and the broker that sold me the place. Got cut a big check, over a year of forgiven rent in the end ... rent the federal government had paid. Moved back to Arizona ... and bought a Jeep.

It was almost like a really good scam .... but it wasn't a scam. All legit.
