Obviously the lower you go the less risk there is, but he'd still have been drinking and driving. Not good.

Actually, as I pointed out in my first post, the issue is that OP for some reason wandered into 4L and made a post looking for helpful advice.

That's probably more retarded than drinking and driving, which is saying something.

Strange that BBV4L is the champion of sending someone who has two Heinekens during a leisurely lunch straight to jail forever eva.

Re: Beat: Got a DWI in NJ. What to do?

IANAL, but since you've already hired a DWI-specialist attorney, I don't think there's much more you can do. Shouldn't you be asking him this question? Take his advice 100%, be at your court appearance early and in a suit, and for God's sake don't do anything that might get you picked up between now and then.

The only other thing I can think of is to voluntarily enter some sort of counseling for alcohol abuse. *IF* your case somehow gets to trial, and *IF* it winds up mattering, having voluntarily entered alcohol abuse counseling *MAY* save you some headache. In New Mexico (DWI capital of the nation), judges love to send guilty DWI offenders to mandatory AA unless they have already entered some sort of counseling of their own volition. You could find a counselor who believes in responsible alcohol use instead of total abstinence. Just check in with them once a week (might even be covered by your work's insurance or HR, who knows) and get some stuff off your chest if you feel like it. This will look good to the judge if it comes down to it. IMHO better that than getting stuck in some hardline AA counseling, and it might mean something to the judge if they have to sentence you. Recommend asking your lawyer if this is a good idea.

I know a man who does work for a local DWI lawyer. He told me that he will only drink at home or where he's sleeping because he's seen too many cases where a beer or two out on the town has cost somebody an overnight stay in holding + bail + $5,000 in lawyer fees + their job just because they were arrested (not found guilty, just arrested) + God knows what else. Totally not worth it.

If you wanna waste a bunch of time, check out duiblog.com and read all the posts. Prepare to be outraged.

Yes, of course I am a politically correct retard for opining that I would rather you didn't drink anything at all before piloting a ton of metal at speed down residential streets.

But tell me, why exactly is it so very important for you to consume that beer with your dinner when you know that you're going to drive? Can't have a fruit juice or a glass of water? Not ****ing manly enough for you?

Or are you just such a sad dickhead that you don't feel that you're having a good time unless you've blurred your ****ty life a little at the edges?

**** you if you drink and drive, **** you.

1-
Spoiler:

2- .08 is mandatory DUI, you can still get a DUI if you blow over .02 if the cop wants to write out the paperwork in most states.

3-
Spoiler:

4- Man up and pay the fine and do your 48 hrs in jail. You shouldn't 'get out of this' scot free. you ****ed up, pay the penalty.

Have a nice day, see you on the road.

Re: Beat: Got a DWI in NJ. What to do?

People driving tired, people driving distracted, people driving while texting or on their phones, etc have all been shown to be huge factors in crashes too.

The outrage over someone having a beer or a glass of wine then driving is retarded. There is a tolerance there, and there is a reason for it.

Gin N tonic's response is particularly amusing.

Edit : actually, it's funny that his name is Gin N tonic and the other guys name defending having a drink is JohnyCrash.
