the answer to this question seems obv, but what is your personal stance on pornography in relation to the degradation of women? do you buy the argument that pornography is degrading, or that it is empowering to the women?

pornography is no more degrading or "empowering" (such a stupid term) than buying shoes, flying a jet or raising a child. These are adults making a decision to have sex on camera for money. No one is forcing them to do it, there are no "pimps" waiting at the bus stop in Hollywood trying to trick young girls into making a porno.

I have a few questions:

1.) Earlier you said the set of a porno is the least sexiest place on earth or something to that affect. Please elaborate on this. Hot chicks getting banged seems like it'd be way sexier than about 90% of the places I have ever been to.

There's an old saying: the most exciting day of your life is the first day on a movie set. The most boring day of your life is your second day on a movie set. The same for porn. It's about getting the shot. Making sure the lighting is fine, the audio is okay, everyone's comfortable, and shooting the scene. When I yell, "cut," the action stops, the performers stop and put on robes, and the crew breaks down the equipment and sets up for the next shot/location.

It's a job. Yes, I get to see naked chicks, but I also have to look at naked guys. Erect naked guys. And that ain't my thing.

are the soft-core porn movies on cinemax, on demand, etc just edited out versions of more harder stuff? it would seem more cost efficient to shoot a regular porn, and then edit out the close ups and dick/vag scenes to make multiple movies from the same shoot.

that's how we used to do it, shoot various edits at the same time for the different markets. Now, that's not so necessary.

Most of the Cinemax and soft-core stuff you see, however, is shot for the channel and explicitly NOT hardcore. It really just depends on where they're getting their product. Sometimes it's a softer edit of a hardcore movie, sometimes it's shot specifically softcore.
