I am starting to think 2+2 is not the best place for you and maybe not a great place for Indians because you are told you are more special than other people based on flawed arbitrary classifications. This has resulted in you feeling entitled and you are taking the jokes personally.

Love it - it's just so true.

IDK man... I wasnt offended at anything , and most of the needling was funny too, until , that guy posted an already repeated joke , and it was not funny , and it looked like this guy , was just trying to needle and not intersted in asking a question.... IDK its just that guy that made me a lil upset.. and it wasnt about the question... its the way he asked...

I understand why you guys think we are smelly or w/e but I just cant tell you why... there is no reason afaik ... just that maybe we are generally very hairy and hence sweat a lot ?? So yeah... I wasnt offended about the question , the guy just pissed me off...

Now just see it my way : A redneck comes to India , and joins my workplace... he stink of beer the whole time , keeps abusing his wife on the phone etc... So would it not be ignorant on my side to categorize all americans like this.. All americans are wife-beaters , and drink beer all day long.. have foul mouth... are ****ing fat.. stink.. etc etc... although there are similar people in US , it doesnt mean that all of them are like that... And indian culture is so huge and diverse , so you will come across different sects of our people and judge all of us, based on the few people you met...

I personally, never leave the house without spraying my deo/perfume , even if its just to buy a cigarette... cause I am aware that its hot here and easy to sweat etc... and I am aware of things like that... most people in my generation are... maybe you have met the older generation , who have faced a lot of poverty , and worrying about BO is like the last thing on their mind.. I have never been told this... have you been told that we have been told this ?? maybe thats where the problem is... Just dont make stereotypes man... thats all am saying... I mean its the natural thing to do , as a human mind is always looking for patterns , and when you see two individuals that were smelly that day , your mind automatically tries to the see the pattern , and it tells you those were both Indians... and you are like , hmmm Indians stink... I have no clue about the costs or anything , but generally the houses are provided to the homeless by the govt for free.. but instead of staying in those houses , these homeless people just rent it out to someone , and keep staying on the streets and begging...

If you are really interested in slum life etc, I highly recommend this book - "Shantaram" ... Its about this white tourist , who falls in love with mumbai , and ends up fighting the Taliban in the end... Its AWESOME... they are also about to make a movie on it afaik... with johnny Depp as the lead...

my point is I dont see him as an american ... I see him as an individual with those habits... I dont assume all Americans are like that... I dont judge a whole country of people based on an individual I met...
