All the smart cookies are against it while the people who can't see further than their nose are for it.

Unfortunately, Stars have already stated ZOOM MTT's are on the way. Let's just hope their kept to a minimum and that they at least keep them the hell away from MTTSNG's.

Maybe it`s not that you are smart and more that you are too stupid too see that it might attract a totally different playerpool, especially in the summer.

Rushmtts were a lot fast over and still played deep. So people could play a Rushmtt even tough they only had like 3.5hours time.

Re: Zoom Tournaments

Over the short term sure but it's just going to toughen up the games overall with time.

I mean a terrible player playing ZOOM tournaments is going to get dealt like K8o UTG+2 and whereas he'd normally limp/call to see a flop with it he's eventually going to think "let's let this one go quick and see what I get next hand instead".

Even the dumbest of players (granted it will take some more than most) are then going to realise that it makes the game a bit simpler playing stronger hands and will adapt this mind-blowing theory when playing normal games too.

I can't understand how anybody can possibly argue that ZOOM is anything but a huge negative for the good of the games as far as tournaments are concerned. Sure they might be fun and over quickly but that's by the by.

ZOOM for cash games is different simply because it nullifies the single biggest negative aspect of them, that being bumhunting, a problem that doesn't exist in tournaments.

Re: Zoom Tournaments

zoom/rush tournaments are extremely profitable! They are still new enough that most of the regs haven't even figured them out yet. ROI of 100%+ are obtainable even if you are not great at tournament poker.

This won't be the case, first its likely that the 600/1200 level and onwards would be played out as a normal tournament, and/or when down to 27 players it would be played normally, like I said above."

So I guess i was right

Re: Zoom Tournaments

Some good posts in the Zoom cash thread:

"Put it this way, if you want to make money playing poker, the last thing you want the fish having is a bloody great FAST FOLD button."

"I have nittet up considerably when playing zoom so players might be more tight. I guess it is to easy to fold junk from BTN when you really should wait and see if it is folded to you. This holds true for CO as well I think."

"Also the main reason I think zoom is harder is that the fish unconciously play better (by fast folding 92o etc) and also less meta game which would hopefully give me an edge over regs because I adjust better/ more quickly than them in levelling spots. (hopefully)"

"Do you not think that there is a higher proportion of coolers, because most of the players on Zoom are really tight?
Last time I checked, the average players/flop % on Zoom was much lower than standard tables, so the big pots are basically just sets versus overpairs.
With so few flops being seen, there's not much chance to actually outplay a villain."

Re: Zoom Tournaments

I love the idea of zoom tournaments. They are just great fun to play, and the On Demand Rush SNGMTT's (36 player minimum to start) were like crack, so addictive, and so much FUN, something largely missing in online poker...if people were actually honest!

The best one ever, which was towards the end of Full Tilt...was the KITCHEN SINK..****lti entry, super turbo, Rush just BONKERS!

Cant wait imho...ill be donating to all you bored pros with a smile on my face!

Re: Zoom Tournaments

Why would you want Zoom on stars if you crush Rush on FTP so bad? Just keep playing there.
