I did and it was perfectly enjoyable Free holidays are always nice. The story was this: they had the iPOPs 5 which was a 135 Buy in 500k GTD, some genius who presumably got fired after CAPPED the registration at 2750, so right before it started the tourny filled up and people could no longer reg. After an hour of play iPoker notices this and the 175k overlay this was going to give them, cancels and restarts in an hour. By this point most people had lost interest and they ended up with a 190k overlay.

The iPops had nothing to do with the 50% 'discount' promotion though which they ran earlier where most of their sched was cut by 30-70% of the buy in. The geniuses at iPoker made sure to remove the 100r and replace it with a 30r, while they already had 2(!) 30r's starting within the same hour. All the tourny's got massive overlay and the promotion was booted.

Sunday 500 is the tourney that would most benefit from this promo and it isn't even included. C'mon Man!

All you regs need to stop hating on this promo and stop thinking only for yourselves for once. This is a great promo for rec. players who don't normally venture into playing the higher buy in tournies on sundays, etc the kick off and the sunday mill. but with this promo may take their "first shot" as it's more reasonably priced.

All the haters seem so angry as if this was a permanant change. This is a 1 off promo. Anything that encourages these sort of players to play more is surely good? Or do you all wanna be playing reg infested 109s/215s grinding out the minimalist of edges until poker slowly dies out.

The Sunday 500 is like the only tournament that should be half price, and it isn't. This can still be changed Bryan! I hope it is. Maybe it to where $215 tickets will work + the $35 extra in cash or something.

to me half price would mean 200+7.5 instead of 200+15. in reality this promotion is 17.777777% off not 50.

This was in April and I couldn't believe there wasn't a big 2p2 thread about it. They canceled their Sunday Major an hour in without saying a word. Imagine if the Million just 'restarted' after the second hour. How badly would MTTc blow up? People would be calling for Bryan's head!

I know people who doubled up and never got any restitution for the "poofed" tournament...

I have a step 4 ticket, and am currently negotiating with stars support to play the warmup and million with it on the 17th. Unfortunately it seems difficult to persuade them that a step 4 ticket is worth exactly $215, but I'll keep persisting.

if you're in the UK, you get auto redirected to .co.uk which says for .co.uk players. if you're in the EU, you get redirected to stars.eu which has no mention of UK and ireland players

Its only 1 sunday. I like it, it attracts players. I expect 40k players.
