The tourney was cancelled with 650ish left from ~1900 or whatever it was and I got the same refund as my friends that had already busted. I had 2.5x avg or something, really absurd that the refund wasn't done correctly. Hopefully they do something more.

Too many players busted out earlier than you because they could not access the software. This could be a factor in WHY you were 2.5x avg.

They need to do this in the fairest possible way for ALL players involved.

Can't possibly expect 1,700 + people to be happy with one decision.

Be happy with a full refund.

My table played at least 90% of the hands as a whole, only one player was inactive for an extended period of time. If it was that bad they should have stopped it the first time they paused the tourney.

yeah its super tilting to have that tourney waste screen space for 5hours or w/e till they decide to cancel it and only getting the BI back.

The worst part about this is the time and energy wasted. Since they wouldn't allow me to unregister from this tourney after I won a satellite, I was forced to leave a freshly snow covered mountain early so that I could get home to grind out this tournament. I was obligated to sit by my computer for five and a half hours, foregoing a day of snowboarding and hanging with friends and watching football so that I could focus on building a stack...an effort that somehow earned me nothing more than I'd already earned when I won the $540 ticket.

After they payout the players that were remaining, WPN at least has to remove the word "guarantee" from that February $1 million time killer.

When there's not actually something at stake, It's a whole lot less fun. I didn't intend to play a play money tournament.

They could control when the cancellation occurred, and they chose to wait 5 and a half hours into the tournament. There was only (rofl) supposed to be 5 hours of late registration.

And they could control their preparation. The WPN servers have been lagging during most if not all of their tournament series over the past couple of years. This isn't a new, surprise, or sudden occurrence. It was predictable and they had months to prepare. Even in the preceding days, where they were having connectivity problems, they surely had time to prepare and come up with a game plan. Waiting 5.5 hours before cancelling and then telling us to pretend it never happened is absurd.

I'm not comparing Poker to Murder. I'm showing how it looks when you blame victims for 'not being prepared'. You just blamed a poker site for getting DDOS attacked. That is as stupid as blaming spectators at a sporting event for getting murdered.

Your post shows how people would react if someone used your own argument in a different light. But since WPN is a poker network it is easy to just blame them and not the attacker.
