Hello 2p2'ers ,

I was a really winning player with high roi and really good scores 7-8 months ago..Since april 2012 , I am always break-even and no big scores..I really think about quitting poker but I dont have any alternative except playing poker for living..What do you suggest for me ? What's my problem ? I don't think it's just variance or downswing? I lost my passion to the game because of this ****..

Here is my sharkscope , I am still break even from 4k to 8k almost 4k tournies..

u cant continue without passion . also, just let u know, 4k game BE is more than standard. I was in a 6k game break even b4 shipping a huge score .
keep working on your game and dont blame luck.

add party/.fr/fulltilt/180mans to lower fields/cut variance, it will help you get through streaks without huge scores.

You could suck, it could be variance. For most people its both so bottom line is keep working on your game and man up.

We need to know a little more about what games you are playing (# of players, sites, average buy in, spread of buy ins, etc) before giving you any proper advice

Thanks for all your comments..

I am playing mostly micro-low stakes , average buy-in about 16-17$ but there are many shots higher than my abi playing on just stars..Especially big fields around 3-4k..

I've won big 4.40 , big 5.50 , big 8.80 and 1.10 3x Turbo and they really gave me flying roi..

Doubt you're allowed to ship the mythical and then moan about a break-even stretch.

Most likely its a mix of variance, games getting tougher, losing your passion etc etc. The probability of running BE or at a loss in big field tournaments over that stretch for games, even for a good winning player, wouldn't be very low at all I imagine.

Better to have a 4k BE with almost no downswings in there, than a massive downswing.

completely agree with this, as someone else said adding in smaller fields or 180s could help, with no big downswings looks like your due for a bink, hang in their OP

I had a quick search on your break even stretch and your average field size was 3,600 which seems very high to me and is a huge factor to your break even stretch.

If I were you I would spend some time writing up a schedule, approximating field sizes and try to game select as best you can.

Mix in the cap tournaments and some 180 mans to lower this if you want to play on Pokerstars.

Alternatively you can look at other sites with lower traffic and lower field sizes. There's so many options and tonnes of value out there if you look around.

You'll also find that playing more of the lower fields will allow you to hit more regular final tables and get more wins under your belt. This will improve your confidence a lot and provide you with a steadier graph.

Thanks for your advices , but there is only problem that I almost broke and I don't like playing lower fields because of the rewards..I am so greedy that I want to bink something big like old times bigs , hots etc... So when I try to play lower fields or caps , I don't have any motivation to win and I spaz lots of time

If you want to just play the large fields you're going to need a much deeper bankroll and will inevitably encounter big downswings and long break even stretches.

Playing the smaller fields is just so important, that's not to say that you shouldn't be playing any of the high value/large fields. You should be mixing them into a balanced schedule. You should certainly be playing the bigs everyday alongside smaller fields.

It's up to you to find that motivation and control yourself.

Personally I like to play 80% of my tournaments with an average field size of around 250 runners and use the other 20% for large fields.

You are right but it's very hard to handle this if you had 20k roll before for low stakes but lost all of them because of life and other expenses..

True, can't say I've been there because I'm backed/play part time.

I start playing full time for a living from next week so I'll no doubt encounter some times that are hard to handle too.

If I were you I'd get yourself onto Party/888 and grind there, not only are the fields smaller but they are softer than Pokerstars.
