I'm not sure if you posted the chats to indicate that your bet with Dan ought to be on, but if anything it clearly indicates that it is off. Fedor and Wushu both assumed bet was off until you clarified with them that it was in fact on. You stated, literally, "all bets off" in this thread. Not "all bets which are affected by my first weekend illness only."

I don't think you had any malice intended with this or the initial cancellation, but I don't think should have the combative attitude you are showing here. To be clear, standard betting etiquette does not allow you to cancel bets because you were feeling sick. If we were betting, and you asked out of the bet because you were feeling sick, I would say yes 99% of the time, but I don't think it is right for you to just cancel all bets with everyone because you were sick. It's not like you went to the hospital, you still played the events in fact. That you say you would do the same for others is commendable, but when you are betting with a huge field of people, I think following what is generally considered acceptable is best. I don't think it is that big a deal, but I generally think it's poor conduct when offering tons of bets out to the field.

As for the bet with Dan, the default assumption very obviously should be that the bet was off, unless otherwise clarified with him, like you did with Wushu and Fedor.

No, there CAN be a clause that one person is able to cancel a bet.
Without it, it goes without saying that both have to consent to cancel, like anski said.

- the reason I don't have clauses in these threads is because I'm usually bettong vs friends or guys I have mutual respect with that both trust the other to not try to angle them etc
