Hello again, everyone... it's that time of year again, when I'm ready to share the tentative schedule for the annual World Championship of Online Poker with you, to let you know how things stand right now and to collect your feedback on what we've built so far.

We're up to Version 04 of this year's WCOOP schedule, and we're quite excited about what we're in the process of building, and I hope that you will be similarly excited. I'm looking forward to your feedback and thank you in advance for any and all constructive discussion(s) to come.

This year, there are actually two schedules to share, though I'll only be posting one for the time being, for reasons which I'll explain right now. The two schedules relevant to this year's series are as follows: 1 - WCOOP, the World Championship of Online Poker, and 2 - Mini-WCOOP, the micro-to-low-stake companion series we'll be running for the first time ever alongside WCOOP.

To get some questions and answers out of the way right from the beginning, I'll explain that Mini-WCOOP is not in any way intended to be another stakes level of WCOOP itself, but instead a companion series run at 1/100th of the buy-in of most WCOOP Events, at 1/1,000th for some, etc. Mini-WCOOP buy-ins range from $1.10 to $11 with the exception of the Mini-WCOOP Main Event, which will cost $50 to play. There will be an extremely limited selection of satellites to Mini-WCOOP Events, which will run on the same dates and at the same times, in the same formats, as the WCOOP Events which each one mirrors (thus the reason there's no need to post the schedule). Mini-WCOOP Events will not be in the WCOOP Events tab in the client, as they are not part of WCOOP proper.

Now then, as for the tentative WCOOP schedule...

overall looks great, not sure about the 100k tho.
regarding the mini-wcoop, please re consider running it at 1/10th of the buy in instead of 1/100th. people were asking about a low-mid stakes series, not another micromillions

Buy in's seem too high. Mini Wcoop seem too low.

Also even if its not "intended" to be another level of WCOOP this does go against a statement made that WCOOP's would never be tiered... that was reserved only for SCOOP.

Probably too late for this, but would really love it if the mini-wcoop was low-midstakes instead of micro-low (so buyins being 1/10 instead of 1/100). There is so much buzz about a midstake series that this would fit right in and make everyone happy. Additionally, MM is running now, so having another micro series in 1 month instead of a midstake one seems a bit... off.

Majority of x3/x4 sats to scoop events ended up being unbeatable, any changes to raking rebuys for wcoop sats?

What will payout tables look like during this series?

Looks great; very exciting stuff.

I would suggest that you lower the shootout from a 700 to a 320 or 215. I think a lower buy in will be more successful bringing in more players to take a shot at it since traditionally at higher buy ins the field is quite small.

Thank you for posting this.

absolutely hate that all the draw-games are 1k$. Was really looking forward to play those, but that just too high for me. Why there are 320$ In other non-NLHE's, but no draws?

I also don't like the starting times of most of the non-NLHE games. 16:00 is superlate to start Studs and HORSE/8-Game. Happy to see smaller bi 8-Game anyway.

Win the button will be fun. 1st and 2nd saturdays looks really nice (320$ Badugi would have made the second one pretty much perfect).

1/10 seems so much better than 1/100 tbf for all the reasons people have listed above. + WCOOP is a HIGH BI series, so surely even mini-wcoop should be reasonably high ie. $11-$110 instead of $1.10-$11, please that is literally just another micromillions, which is just too low bi anyway

edit: re-reading the schedule. please 1/10 not 1/100 please.
also ante up w/ prog. ko is great and win the button = awesome

agree with the sentiment that 1/100th is too small. micro millions is there for a reason

Awesome that you got functionality for WTB. Was that a hard update?

Why $1000 for championship events as opposed to the $1050. Do you think it being a round number will attract more people? Is it en error that the FLHE Championship is $1050 instead of $1000 like all the other championships?

Also, $102k is intense! Will be fun to rail. Why the increase from what was already the biggest online tournament of all time last year?

One last question: are you concerned that since the championship events for most games in SCOOP were at the $2100 price level, the lower buyin $1000 WCOOP championship events will have less prestige and be considered less of a true world championship?

decent schedule, micro millions just ran why have the miniwcoop @ 1/100 ?
why not spread the buyins a bit more from 1/100-1/10 since you reached that target group with micro millions already
this would give the miniwcoop more exiting pricepools.
Too bad the SHR is 100k, 51k seems reasonable

very nice to have 3 events last monday, maybe turn 1R1A into N-stack or so ?

+1mirrion on mini wcoop being a 10th of wcoop BI's.

the micros are being catered to this month already, let september be about the stakes above MM enthousiasts.

you can plan another MM in november or smt.

Agree on bigger mini wcoop , wcoop is huge for a lot of us guys and something that would allow us to buy in with a chance at a life changing score for a mid stakes player would be great 1/10th seems way more way to go, damn run mm again in October if you want, everyone loves them..

Like u got win the button function in, thought it wouldn't be too hard to develop ..

I really think some of the draw games should have 1/10th the buy in like 100 for the mini for th draws people love to play them but 1k is huge for mid stakes guys (even micro guys would try satty in to a 109)

Great schedule Bryan, looking forward to the Series!

- Change week day starting times to 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 (instead of 10:00, 13:00 16:00)
- Add a $320 FLO8 (Sunday, 25th 12:30 slot is still available)
- Make Mini-WCOOP 1/10th of WCOOP buy-in

5-55$ Mini WCOOP, 100$ Main event or 11-100$ with 215$ Main event seems best.

1-11$ is another micro millions, which is pretty low compared to before

Win the button is awesome. Schedule overall is definitely the best first posted draft of any year. Is deep payouts a 25% payout table? I think if you want to include this event it'd be better to not replace the sunday warmup but run it elsewhere. I hope the n-stacks aren't 500bb deep.

My main wish is that 8-game could switch games based on # hands dealt rather than minutes. Sounds less complicated to implement than win the button, right?

Struggling to come up with more comments, well done really. What kind of structures can we expect for the mini-wcoop?

Pretty please just one or two nlhe 20.00-02.00 ET? There are other people in the world who like poker! You can just add an extra event on one or two days, since there will be little overlap, no need to replace existing events. Thank youuu

and big +1 to 1/10 for mini

A quick word or two (hundred) on Mini-WCOOP, as it seems that I wasn't clear enough in my initial post on this subject.

Mini-WCOOP is being run as a companion series to WCOOP, not as a second stakes level within WCOOP. Mini-WCOOP results will not count toward the WCOOP Player of the Series results. Mini-WCOOP will have extremely limited satellites, likely starting only on the day of the target tournaments. Long story short, Mini-WCOOP is being made available to enjoy, but with the clearly defined goal of ensuring that it does not interfere with WCOOP in any way.

The series is being run specifically to enable extension of play and excitement for many of our players for whom WCOOP is far beyond their reach, not to simply provide another set of tournaments for those who are already playing WCOOP. Running the series at 1/10th of the buy-ins of the WCOOP Events would have the buy-ins overlapping with WCOOP Events in many cases and with WCOOP Event satellites in all cases.

Basically, running Mini-WCOOP at 1/10th of the WCOOP buy-in would turn WCOOP into a second SCOOP, and we're simply not going to do that.

Thinking of it another way, Mini-WCOOP is similar to what some sites have done in the past when they have mirrored the WSOP with miniature versions of it on their sites at much smaller buy-ins. Full Tilt did this many years ago, in fact, though they weren't able to mirror every event perfectly due to software limitations.

I completely understand that there are many people out there who would love it if we turned WCOOP into a second SCOOP in terms of how it plays out, but I assure you wholeheartedly that this is absolutely not going to happen. The Mini-WCOOP tournaments each have a hard total initial buy-in cap of $11 (with the exception of the Main Event), and this is not going to change.

As for any other low-to-mid-stakes series later in the year, perhaps that discussion can be had later, but this thread is not the place for it. In the meantime, you may rest assured that I've heard those who've broached that subject loud and clear, and while I'm not promising anything, I've taken extensive notes on the subject and I'm not idle in this regard. However, I don't have anything to say at the moment on the subject and I wouldn't discuss it in this thread regardless, or in any other thread until and unless I do have something to contribute.

Thank you all very much for your feedback. Please continue to offer up anything which occurs to you, but please do stop asking for Mini-WCOOP to increase in buy-ins, as doing so is a futile exercise. We have a very specific set of goals in mind for Mini-WCOOP, and the buy-in range is set in stone.

maybe in the minority here but definitely disappointed with the schedule here - especially looking at the amount of re-entries - and then the mini being capped at 11$ - obviously going to be gr8 for all the pros - going to be fun railing

what's the kickoff final supposed to mean? another phase which will end on the beginning day???
