Is using a pushfold chart on your phone during a live MTT in realtime considered cheating? What's the ethical consensus on this? Has this topic ever been discussed?

If you look at your phone after you've been dealt cards I would consider this at best unethical. If you have no cards you can look at anything you want, imo.

isn't the former expressly prohibited most places? in 2017 i think we don't have to hedge when we say 'no phones during a hand'

This end thread. Even in places you can use your phone with a live hand i don't do it seems disrespectful to the table even if not slowing the game down.

So if you have 8 BBs in CO, and quickly refer a push/fold chart before the hand is dealt, to see that you should shove Ax+, 22+, K8o+, T9s+ in unopened pots, that's ethical?

Whether it's ethical is debatable, but there's not much to do about it. Casino's are not going to forbid people from using any and all devices at the table.

I check, it's just a force of habit. Beware tough; Live players may give you a look of disgust as if you just killed a puppy.

I think Doug Polk said he was referencing push/fold charts during his 1k turbo WSOP win a few years
