Anyone else having this problem or have any comments/suggestions on what might be causing this?
Yeah can someone confirm this or the opposite? I'm sorta interested in this but this is scary :S

I've never had that problem or heard of that problem with a wired controller (instead of wireless) so I'd safely say if you used a wired 360 controller you're fine.

I've used mine probably a total of >200 hrs without problem at all.

Re: Using a GamePad+TableNinja for multitabling

hey guys its been a while since i checked the thread;

my usb controller is on the fritz - wondering what everyone is using these days? (is there a consensus "best" controller for multitabling?)

i know i can get an xbox wireless adapter to allow me to use my xbox controller, no?

are there any other / better options?

is this "pokercontrols" thing worth it? has anyone tried it?

thanks!

My wrist is hurting so bad I've no choice but to take this up. I can't even play for two hours straight no more when my high desk and low chair force me to more or less lean on my mouse whilst using it.

Reckon this will work with FTCash rather than Table ninja?

Deco more importantly than getting a gamepad you need to address your wrist problem. There's a glove-like thing with a hard peice that goes down your forearm that you're supposed to wear while you sleep and while not playing that really helps (by making sure your wrist doesn't curl inwards palm towards forearm at any point, which is often how I wake up), and there's a ton of good stretches designed for people with repetitive stress injuries particularly in the wrists. My favorite is turning my arm upside down and opening my palm up like it's against a wall (going down) and then pulling up on my thumb as hard as I can with my other hand and after that just pressing my palms together hard at a 90º angle. Those, and reaching forward with both arms with my thumbs squeezed in my fists and moving my wrists around, particularly down.

Re: Using a GamePad+TableNinja for multitabling

Ye you know what I'm gunna take a week off poker and focus on sorting this out I've ignored it for too long and it's got to the point I can no longer do a single pressup. I'll go out buy a wrist brace tomorrow, see my doctor. They will tell me to stop spending so much time on laptops as usual which is not an option when my sole income is poker and my degree is computer science lol.

Gunna have a look at the xbox controller option although I suspect FTCash isn't suitable. It appears to highlight tables based on the next action rather than allowing full uninterrupted manual control. The highlight can be turned off but without a mouse it is needed. Guess I'll invest in tableninja.

I've been having less severe but still painful wrist/hand problems while playing lately. I try to do stretches every half hour or so but I play 30+ tables so it's tough to get time. I think I'll look into a brace also.

Maybe get a more ergonomic chair, which will help with your posture and thus help out your arm and wrist

The clicking motion is what actually hurts my hand, it's the tendons that hurt. I hurt my wrist badly snowboarding like 6 years ago so I'm used to having pain there, but the hand pain is what is troubling me now.

just lower the intensity of your clicking, maybe get a vertical mouse, do lots of stretches, and get that brace and it will go away completely.

I don't think I click intensely at all, but I think the brace is a great idea.

Wear the brace when you sleep. I'm a long time computer gamer so my clicking actions are extremely intense and I transferred that to poker

Funny fact I learned while researching carpal tunnel: your wrist is twisted 90º from the elbow when it's faced palm down, and even and straight when your palm is facing the horizon

This is exactly right, the position of holding a mouse and typing twists the muscles and tendons in our hands really badly. The natural position is instead with your thumbs facing up, which would lend itself to an upright mouse. I found however, the upright mouse still requires you to grip the mouse too much. A trackball makes a huge difference because you don't have to grip the mouse and you can get your hand at a better angle. Also try a natural keyboard rather than a traditional keyboard. You can beat the pain by changing your habits, but its takes an incredible amount of patience and self discipline to change our habits so drastically.

See the section called "Other Recommended Equipment" here for some other products/techniques I've found that help tremendously.
