Great thread and I agree with most of it.

I'm sure there are going to people who chime in that Reg ABC or Reg XYZ is terrible at poker and that these graphs prove nothing. But there's no arguing that these are among the best MTT grinders on PokerStars.
I agree that it's probably a great sample for reg speed tourneys but I think the quote actually has some relevance for turbos. It's a completely different skill set. Some of the top regs will just suck at turbos and be considered the below average regs in turbos. then there's the average turbo regs. there are some crazy icm situations that come up fairly often in turbos. There's a huge chunk of regs that will either not account for this nearly enough or overcompensate for it. then there's the best of the turbo regs who are going be playing reasonably optimal.
I think even the ****ty turbo regs will be breakeven and the rest can get up to a 15-20% roi, imo. 10% is prob pushing it in the highest buyins and the best can prob get up to 30% in the huge field low buyins.
i also completely disagree with the statement that 10bbs is avg stack in turbos on stars. Hypers, yes but 5 min blinds actually have kinda slow structures. I think shaniac was a bit off the mark in the scoop thread because even though I agree it's closer to 20bb it's still way different then a reg speed mtt. the distribution of chips is spread much more even in reg speeds and it's way, way tougher to maintain a stack in turbos. the avg stack stays high because small stacks are shoving so much they're constantly merging into bigger stacks. Also, having so many small stacks makes for a completely different dynamic in turbos.
I'm not really sure what my point is but bottom line, rake should be lowered in turbos.
