side by side blind structure:Venetian vs Caesars deep stacks
Summer of 2009
I've been a lurker to this site for a few years but never posted. Here is my first post. I hope it's a good one.
The blind structure sheet on the Venetian's website is not a correct one. They have changed it and it looks awesome. I had a very hard time getting Caesars structure sheet but they did finally send it to me after a few phone calls. They sent me the one for the $1,000 buy-in. I don't know if it is going to be the same for all their deep stack series or not.
Summer of 2009
Comparisons:
Caesars gives you more chips and longer blinds. Venetian uses card shufflers (more hands per hour) to make up for the shorter blind duration. Caesars/Harrahs does not want any chops at the final table and will force one person to sign for each prize/tax liability. Venetian helps the players if asked for a chop and has a program to recalculate the taxes for the new prize structure. I have heard that the Venetian comps all tournament players for a meal, Caesars only does it if you make it to the dinner break. And here is the side by side blind structure:
SB/BB/Ante
Casears----------------------Venetian
50/100/0-------------------- 50/100/0
100/200/0-------------------75/150/0

this. but nonetheless very nice 1st post. thx for the info.
antes starting at the 600/1.2k level at caesars is rediculous imo and makes me not want to play there even though i only heard good things about their tourneys.

Those are readily available on their website and is different for each buy in. None the less, I will try to edit the original post to include it. As soon as I find out where the edit button is.
I will add the staff add-on for extra chips to all the buy-ins and include the chips in the total starting chips. I doubt anyone would refuse this. Also I'm only listing the No Limit Holdem tournaments:
$340 buy-in:
Caesars: 15000 chips, 50 minute blinds, 2 day event, winner gets WSOP main event seat also (non-negotiable, non-refundable)
Venetian: 12000 chips, 40 minute blinds,
__________________________________________________ __________________
$560 ($550 for Caesars) buy-in:
Caesars: 18000 chips, 50 minute blinds, 2 day event, winner gets WSOP main event seat also (non-negotiable, non-refundable)
Venetian: 15000 chips, 40 minute blinds
__________________________________________________ __________________
$1060 for Caesars, $1080 for Venetian:
Caesars: 25000 chips, 50 minute blinds, 2 day event, winner gets WSOP main event seat also (non-negotiable, non-refundable)
Venetian: 15000 chips, 60 minute blinds <--------------longer blinds
__________________________________________________ ______________
$2090 for Caesars, $1600 and $2110 for Venetian
Caesars: 50000 chips, 60 minute blinds, 3 day event, winner gets WSOP main event seat also (non-negotiable, non-refundable)
Venetian: 20000 chips, 60 minute blinds
________________________________________________
$5000 Venetian Only: 25000 chips, 60 minute blinds

Re: side by side blind structure:Venetian vs Caesars deep stacks
Another point to include is that $10k is taken out of every Caesars tournament prize pool for a ME seat.

Does anyone know how they take it out (i.e. is it just $10k taken from the total prizepool before they calculate the prizes for each place or just $10k of the winner's normal prize?).
If it is the former then doesn't that make the payout structure better* because it is more for first place than otherwise.
* On the assumption that anyone winning a CP Mega-Stack will want to play the WSOP ME or already plans to do so
Also, what happens when the winner already has a ME Seat? I would assume they just get the cash but want to be sure.
Either way, I personally do not see any negative from CP including a $10k ME seat in the prizepool, but perhaps thats because I will be playing the ME anyway so it should have no effect on me - or am I missing some obvious flaw?

Re: side by side blind structure:Venetian vs Caesars deep stacks
I think the ME seat is non-negotiable, non-refundable, and non-transferable. They take it out of the prize pool and then figure out the prize structure. I'm not a big fan of this, but to each their own.

Re: side by side blind structure:Venetian vs Caesars deep stacks
i for one am already regged in the me since i won my seat on a euro site that registered me. no take cash option there as with stars or ftp seats.
so does that mean that if i win a caesars tourney i lose out on 10k since i have no use for the me seat and am not allowed to sell it either? thats rediculous. i cant play at caesars then... i wont be in vegas until late june so i hope somebody with the same "problem" is going to find out if they make an exception for such cases.

Also keep in mind that even though Venetian levels are 10 minutes shorter, they have auto-shufflers.

I'm relatively certain that if you proved to them that you are already registered for the ME they would give you $10K in cash.
