I played a charity tournament last night----

Entry fee was $360, and they had about 200 players----all fish obviously. 50% vig as well lol

Starting stack was 4000 chips, with the opportunity to rebuy for the first 2 hours getting 4000 chips for $100 and 10,000 chips for $200.
You could actually rebuy at any stack size during the rebuy period even if you had a lot of chips. (It was a charity event and they really didn’t care.)

Blind levels started at 100/200 and doubled or so every 30 minutes, end of the rebuy period they were 500/1000 for example.

During the 200/400 level, they auctioned off 1 million in in tournament chips. No idea at that point how many chips were in play, or how many would be in play, or whether they would offer something like this in the future.
As it turns out, about 2 hours later they had a competition to see which table could perform the YMCA dance the best, and gave everyone at that table 25000 in chips, by the way----but at this point we did not know this would be the case. (My table won that btw lol)

This is all the information available....

Question is----How much would you have paid for the 1mm in tournament chips?

(I really couldn’t bid, because even if I won the tournament I would probably have to give all the money back because it is my friends charity lol, but just presume you were keeping the money, what would u expect the 1mm chips to go for?)

I received privately some pretty interesting attempts at this----pretty disappointed at this forum. Used to be more of a place to bang around stuff like this,---maybe one day again

In any case, will post some a little later.

If you could buy 10,000 for $200, that would make it 20k, but I'd say a little over 10k. If bidding got to 15k, I'd drop out.

With 50% VIG things change a lot. You obviously shouldn't buy 1billion chips at the 10k = $200 rate if there is only 1million other chips in play total. Obvious over exaggeration. If this is a very significant amount of chips compared to what's in play I would think $6k seems reasonable. We have an edge with these chips but with half the money being raked it isn't so good. We don't want to get in to a situation where 1st place only just gets us out of it.
