Re: SCOOP 2012 - Feedback Thread

Why doesn't someone start a thread about turbos vs. reg speed, edges, rake...so we can stop derailing this thread?

Obv someone with the graph should make the OP :}

I was ok with the tcoop because i thought sweet, once its over the other series can be free of turbos...

A six max PLO8 would be a great addition (like PLO this game plays very well six max, hence why you see a lot of six max PLO8 cash running compared to full ring).

Hard to please everyone obviously...Action Hour much better than ante-up IMO. Slower structures over turbos.
+1 to a six max or even 4 max plo8 (or nl if it must)

$700 PlO8, $2k NLO8 then a $5200 FLO8 seems inconsistent with the kind of action seen on the O8 tables at stars. The limit should be 2k tops. Also the nl should be regular levels. Personally i find it hard to justify dropping 2k on a turbo

The first headsup event should be higher, $55/530,5200

The 4max should be like last years (you can replace the shootout/4max buyins since shootout is capped at a 100 people for the high level and 4max will likely exceed 100)

More normal NL events during week 6 max or 9 would be cool.

I think an action hour would be a cool add as long as its not another turbo.

I know this will not happen but would be really cool if it was 3weeks and not 2weeks.

Also, I would like to keep sun 500 if you are not replacing it with a scoop.

1. Make one of these Superknockout 2ks a normal speed $1k tourney and the other a normal speed $1k with $1k bounties. This isn't TCOOP its SCOOP. Whatever happened to making these tourneys prestigious skillfests where we grind it out until the late hours of the following day?

2. $5k 4 max is too big bring it back to $3k or you won't get any runners

3. The $1k 2x turbo is ridiculous its just going to result in a ton of stalling and tilted people who are in for more money than the main event costs. Making it an action hour would be much more feasible because people could play it as a cubed if they were taking a shot and still have some bbs to play actual poker with!

4. +1 to Feltingdonks post about the 5/55/530 Scoops on a Sunday

5. Hu tourneys on any other day apart from Sundays please. I'm not sure why this wasn't done in the original schedule anyway seeing as it gets complaints everytime.

6. The ONLY turbo that I'm really interested in seeing in the whole schedule is an equivalent of the Supersonic and you haven't got it as of now. We all need a quick chance to get out of SCOOP on the last Sunday imo

PLEASE get rid of the turbos thanks
These 2 posts overlap a but but agree 100% with both.

Re: SCOOP 2012 - Feedback Thread

Like others have said a few more regular freezeouts would be nice but the amount of turbos seems fine to me. Looking forward to this.

just make your own sharkscope global alias if you wanna examine ROIs for top players in different field types.

Over pretty significant sample sizes when you combine a lot of players who are highly winning players at the medium-low buy in turbos, no one is making money (I have a graph someone sent me with 30-35 highly respected grinders combined and over 65,000 games they are all breaking even in them, I don't have his permission to post it so I won't but its pretty easy to look it up for yourself too). For lower-medium buy in tournaments its fine/whatever, but when you have one shot at a tournament a year, reducing variance a bit by giving the event a better structure can't be the worst thing in the world, and this tournament series literally happens once a year.

Also, if gags has a 15-20% roi in turbos (if you honestly think 44% is long term probable/possible when we are talking 55's+, you're kidding yourself its not), how hard is it to believe he has a 80-100% roi in a regular speed well structured deep stack tournament? Similar/same hourly with heaps less variance, sounds great to me imo

Players as a whole have been pushing for turbos so much the last few years because yes they are fun/are good for your hourly if you can pump out 10,000 of them but its gotten to the point where those who actually want to play deep structured events on stars can't do that, and I think you are just seeing a reaction to that from all of us who are sick of stars catering to the very vocal 180 man robot "i want to play a $1k 180 man sng" crowd. Again, scoop is once a year and really doesn't need high buy in turbos which just throw variance to the wind. And when we are talking scoop/wcoop, you really need to distinguish your thoughts on average stack size from the average daily non-turbo, in comparison to a scoop event of similar buy in the daily 162 is actually basically a turbo (since usually there are 30 minute blinds in these things etc.).
winner!

Re: SCOOP 2012 - Feedback Thread

yeah the 4max at 5K is ridic.... going to get ±50-60 runners i bet... $3K 4max already didint have a huge amount but it sure makes a difference. expect double the entries this with 3K instead of 5K.

Also Bryan? Any news on changes, updates etc?

Any idea when Stars will solidify the schedule + guarantees? Just curious on the timetable.
