I went back through mine and Calebs FB message history since the beginning of the year to remember better times. He'd message me at random at least once a week and tell me to get an xbox so I could grind online games with him. We used to do it quite often (countless hours on Borderlands) but once I moved back to PA I let my brother keep my 360. We'd just banter back and fourth about life, poker, the good ol' days with the "TS Crew", and just random nonsense. For a good 2 years there there was a solid group of people that would go to every TS series without fail. It'd be the best of times. We'd all be on skype calls daily while we grinded online and just reminisced about everything. After BF much of this changed, but we all ended up in Vegas last summer and had a great time. After that we all went our ways and only really talked on facebook from time to time. Caleb was one of few people from that core group that I actually talked with on a regular basis after the fact. He'd ask me how life was, rant about poker like always, and just shoot the ****. One time in particular I had posted some random lyrics on facebook (forget what they were. apparently they lead him to believe I was upset) and I got the following message

That just goes to show Calebs true character.

The last thing he asked from me was a picture from 2 new years ago where I was entirely too drunk and looked like a fool. I wasn't able to find it for him, but he apparently had big plans for it had he found it. Now I can only wish I knew what it was... probably another one of his awesome memes he would make on a whim that would give everyone a laugh.

We had our differences over the summer, but I'd never consider him anything less than a great friend and beautiful person.

Really sad to hear this. Was fortunate enough to meet him and hang out a lot during last year's WSOP. He was staying in a house with some friends of mine. Had a great time playing nerf wars and pool bball games. RIP

I met Caleb for the first time 3-4 years ago at TS, like most people ITT. I pronounced his name incorrectly (soft a instead of hard a) and he corrected me in his monotonous no-care-ever voice. We pretty much instantly became friends. Most subsequent visits to TS we shared a room. Driving up to beautiful Verona, NY became a labor of love, even tho I suck(ed?) at live pokers. because I had become such good friends w/the degens at TS.

We had a lot of mutual friends, many of whom have posted in this thread. Caleb was an integral part of this group, and we all keep in touch through a skype chat that is always the highlight of my day when I turned on my computer. I'd browse through chats w/other groups of people, but I would always read almost every message sent in this chat, and still do.

I never really gave it much thought before the last few days, because poker was the least entertaining subject we discussed, but Caleb influenced the way I play live cash a good bit. It's pretty easy getting people to spew to my face, but Caleb was the one who really taught me some interesting things with regards to bet sizing and live tells (they're real) and plugged some of my more glaring leaks as I transitioned from donkaments to cash. He would always nag about how I needed to be less spewy at cash until I actually learned what the hell I was doing, and I still revert to a lot of basic things Caleb and I talked about when I'm on a downswing, without ever realizing where I learned the basics.

A couple of years ago, Caleb and I joined a $33r 3x turbo to the PCA on Stars. With 2 or 3 tables left, we decided that if either of us won, we would chop a room at PCA. I run good enough as it is, but whenever I swap with a friend I get superpowers. I godmoded the FT, won my PCA seat, and we were roommates on Paradise Island for 10 days. We were joined in the room by pro-floorcrasher Josh Giller and the farmboy wonder Chad Eveslage. We all had a great time, and although the second bed was Caleb's based on our gentlemen's agreement, he would play cash till late and came upstairs to an occupied bed at least once or twice. Without any argument, he grabbed a pillow and blanket and either passed out on the floor or spooned with one of the other guys like a real man.

But some of my favorite memories w/Caleb were in the hotel rooms at TS, where we would play what started out as low-stakes Acey Deucey and spiralled way out of control to the point where it was uncomfortable how much money was in the middle of our circle. "Get ****ed!" became the crying call on the K-2 and Q-2 spreads as the pot continued to get bloated. One time we took a deck of cards to Emerald and just while waiting for the food the pot built to somewhere around 2-3k (most of it Caleb's) and when we offered to chop up the pot because the food was here but he refused to chop out of principle.

He was just such a great guy and always had something funny to say. We had similar senses of humor, and he never failed to make me (and everyone else) smile.

Rest In Peace, Caleb. I wish you knew how much you meant to us.

Gonna miss you man, had a lot of great times @ TS and Vegas the past few years. Caleb was a great person to be around. He was caring, nice, and had a great sense of humor.

Damn really sad didn't know him all that well but played a bunch of sessions in AC with him and he seemed really down to earth and super friendly. One of the only people who would flip with me and just seemed like an all-around awesome guy. Not fair how awesome people can be taken way too soon. RIP Caleb you'll be missed.
