Ignition
40/80
Currently 7 handed
VILLAIN CO - 56 bb's
HERO BB - 114 bb's
No real reads but a while before this hand Villain and I were in a pot together. This was the third hand I had raised in a row.
I raised 9To in ep, villain calls from sb. Villain check calls my c-bet on Qc 3c 7 flop. Turn is a 2c, check check, river is 8c giving me a Ten high club flush.
villain checks and I value bet pretty small like 290 into a 730 pot, villain calls w 76 pair of 7's no club.
ONTO THE HAND...
VILLAIN opens 3x in CO to 240
HERO calls W QcTd in BB
FLOP (520)
9h 7h Qs
HERO checks
Villain bets 320
HERO calls
TURN (1,160)
Kd
HERO checks
VILLAIN bets 480
HERO calls
RIVER (2,120)
Ah
HERO checks
VILLAIN overbet shoves for 3,489
HERO?
Is this EVER a call or is it just one of those spots where your completely at the mercy of the aggressor?
The board ran completely horrendous for me but the betting pattern of the raiser doesn't seem to make much sense especially the river. He bets big on Q hi flop, then he bets less than half pot on K turn on drawy board, THEN he overbet shoves Ah river for over 40bb's.
I have Q blocker so that kinda eliminates KQ, AQ, JQ, QQ, I also have blocker to JT.
I think he would probably value bet the river much smaller with 99, 77, KK, AA and Ak so the over bet shove isn't making sense to me.
Maybe I'm overthinking this one but just curious to know what others think.

you don't have any real reads on V so I can't see a call here being any good

The betting line doesn't make a whole lot of sense but I don't see how you can make the call since you beat virtually nothing. He would have to be a hyper LAG driving a hand like 88/TT/JJ for you to be good there, and without a clear read you simply can't put him on that. It is far more likely that he has a hand that beats you that he bet strangely.

I don't see how you could ever make this call, even the flush got there on the river.

I did end up folding and looked the hand history up a few days after, the villain had 45o. I don't know if I can ever hero call here lol.
Thanks for input fellas

How did you look up villain's hand? I'd fold turn already.

I play on ignition. The hand histories are available about 24 hours after the game ends.
