any reason the icm calcs weren't done after the first tourney pause? people were sitting out and other people got to register.

i was deep in the $44 turbo ko (htink 21? left) and then it restarted for about 2 orbits with a million ppl sitting out. i ended up busting during this time and then it cancelled and ppl got refunds. seems really unfair to me tbh

Similar thing happened to me. Half the table sit out (including BB). I raised TT from CO, SB restealed with a perceivingly wide range and I jammed. Ran into queens & GG. It's unfair how this affects the gameplay, but I'll chuck the loss on greed. I doubt there's anything we can do about it, just wishful thinking. Tomorrow is another day.

Big +1 to timing the icm calcs so that people don't blind out and get nothing

Happened to me on 3 tournaments, busted two lost huge stack on one, because of people sitting out gameplay was affected. if I lasted few more hand would have gotten alot more money.

It's only the 7th time it happens this year, there's nothing to worry about guys I'm absolutely sure fixing this issue is in the top priority at Amaya HQ.

Maybe a good solution would be to increase rake and diminish rakeback, that way they would have more money for server space. Oh also more bounty builders and less vanilla Freezouts so that the server doesnt become overloaded

the fact that 'technical difficulties' has been the only cause cited so far, and only in the lobby, no post here, no social media post, no emails except for refund summaries...

theyre crossing the ****ing line week after week. i actually feel really depressed about the future of online poker.

Here is the email i sent after receiving my third identical generic response to my queries:

Thank you again for the third consecutive identical bot generated generic email in regards to my concern that has not been answered.

SO I WILL ASK AGAIN (4TH TIME):

When the site freezes, why do you continually allow people to register? Upon the site freezing, the $16.50 BB was at 1203 entries, so a prizepool of 18k. When the refunds were calculated, it was based on 1947 entries, which makes it very close to the 30k prizepool.

Is this a method you guys have in place to cover any overlay in situations like this cause it just seems fishy like it is. how many players were cost money as i was due to over 700 more entries? How many players got a freeroll by being able to register late and make money? Why were they tournies not manually paused right away instead of an hour and a half after the freeze.

Is a god damn joke. What was once a great site and forerunner of the online poker industry has been reduced to a steaming pile of crap.

Luke,

Can we please get a response letting us know what's going on? Was PS hacked? I for one don't feel comfortable playing on PS until we receive some sort of explanation and some reassurance that this sort of thing won't happen again moving forward.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to provide an update regarding our service issues last night. First of all, I apologize for my lack of updates. Every single disruption is different in nature. In this case, I was called approximately 30 minutes after the site issues began. Upon logging in, I liaised with our developers to learn the type of issues we were experiencing and a timeline for restoring service. They informed me that service would be restored in the short term. With that in mind, we immediately began preparations to take mass actions regarding existing tournaments, mostly roll forwards.

As for specific issues:
  • Players in the $10K Payday Phase 2 were manually credited roll forward credits this morning.
  • Tournaments unexpectedly resumed dealing from ~19:29 to 19:47 ET. We're going to investigate how players were affected during this period and make additional credits as needed.

If you feel like the compensation you receive is inadequate or you do not receive compensation and feel you deserve to, please don't hesitate to contact Support. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused by this outage.

Cheers,

Luke

Luke, given that this is the 3rd total outage / complete sitewide failure in the space of a month, I think what we are all dying to know is what is the root cause of these outages, and what are you doing to address the root cause? Because right now I have no motivation to load up a session if the site is going to crash at any given moment because of your continued incompetence in handling the situation. It's bad enough that this happened during SCOOP but the fact that it continues to happen (thus implying no steps have been taken to address and correct the issue(s)) is far far more concerning.

Apparently it costs quite a bit of money for hardware+software to prevent a DDOS attack properly. Not saying it was a DDOS attack, but if it was, and if Stars is intent on cutting expenses, it makes sense that they would be vulnerable to a DDOS attack.

I'll stop speculating as soon as Luke tells me it wasn't a DDOS attack.

Luke, PokerStars losing Russian customers every day. Any plans to stop this situation? You might be aware that every your new site will be blocked just in a few days by the government. There is more than 50 sites that PokerStars created for last year and they all blocked. Recs don't know how to use proxy and another stuff, so you are losing a lot of potential customers every day. So, how do you want to attract new players from Russia?
P.S.: Sorry if this is the wrong thread. If so, I hope Luke can address it.

So, you have multiple issues that can cause this? Great. Thats comforting. Very likely that it'll happen again then. Or are you doing anything to prevent it? Anything at all...? THAT'S what you need to tell us now. Not this "apologize for the inconvenience" bull****.

What happened to you, Stars...
