watched my 100r timebank go bye bye sunday when i had air utg and it took 90 seconds to respond. this is clearly a pokerstars issue. i played on 6 other sites, and had no problems all day.

When a bunch of regs are telling you that something's happening on your site that isn't normal it's probably a better idea not to tell them that they're just a small group of all the people that were playing.

They'll always be the most vocal and the threads here should actually give you more pause than less. Stop making your standard operating procedure deny, minimize, ignore.

Random lag spikes here as well, not lasting usually more than 10 seconds though, had maybe two sitouts over two weeks. I don't ever bother reporting it to stars since their support is annoying me recently.

My lag isn't that bad but it's pretty obviously happening whenever new tourneys load. And when the site isn't down anyways...
I couldn't log in one day and Support assisted me as if forgot my password or some **** over the course of a few E-Mails. Pissed me off cause it was clearly on their end.

Just sent an e-mail with link to this thread and some quotes to support, I recommend everyone else does this, power in numbers.

Re: Lag

Our developers, support, and network operations teams have looked into this issue extensively, and collectively we're coming up blank. There simply aren't that many reports, and there doesn't seem to be any cause which can be narrowed down based on what little we have seen on places like TwoPlusTwo. Having said that, there was a post earlier in the "**** Official 2012 Pokerstars Regs Thread ****" which seemed to indicate a solution for players, and also that the problem may be related to Table Ninja. Here's the post...

"Yeah. I think what it was doing was it was monitoring TN because of it's interaction with Stars (could be dodgy if you have a program you don't know about that's interacting with another program I guess). Somewhere in the settings of the Windows security thing there's an option to exclude applications, so I went in there, disabled scanning of TN and it worked. I guess the quickest way to find out whether this is your problem is just to disable all security/antivirus for 5 mins while playing and see if it solves your problem."

For those who are lagging, are you also using Table Ninja or other third-party software programs which interact with the PokerStars client and which might be triggering the above reaction from AV software? If any of the posters reading this fit the model described above, would you try the solution mentioned above and report back as to whether or not it's worked?

I know a ton of people who experienced lagging and don't use table ninja.

I don't use TN and don't have active AV running and I get no lag.

I play without TN or AV software. The only program that interacts with pokerstars that I use is HEM2. I also play on Merge and have had no connection issues with them whatsoever. The thing about the lag on Stars that should be noted is that I only experience it at :00, :15, :30, and :45 when several tournaments are launching throughout the client and not just specifically launching for me.

I think there may be some merit to what you are saying here but this is still an issue of some significance.

Before the update containing pre late reg payouts and shiny final tables, I personally had no lag issues whatsoever and this was running Kaspersky, Skype HEM2 etc etc, three big drainers of CPU usage. POST that update there was an IMMEDIATE difference when running stars software. The only way I could play more than 4 tables smoothly with other programs running was to disable my kaspersky anti-virus even though it's CPU usage is the same as stars.

This solved the problem for the majority of February until about five days ago when the lag started coming back despite not running anything except stars and HEM2 with kaspersky turned OFF.

Evidently there are two things we can glean from this.

1) Turning off Anti-virus seems to (in general) measurably improve lag issues.

2) The lag issue seems to have a specific start time. I posted in MTT discussion thread the day after it started happening and several people requoted the same issue (this was immediately after the update described above)

Just thought breaking it down a bit may be useful for your software developers

Just got my first 5 second pause. Internet was fine and ongame was working as expected. Still not TN or AV.

Bryan --

The problem with comparing the number of complaints from regs to the number of overall complaints should be obvious.

A casual player is much more likely to assume the problem is on their end and therefore not report it. They might not even be aware of the support services or the possibility of refunds and will therefore suffer in silence or *gasp* stop playing on Stars altogether.

There's clearly an issue here. How many complaints were you getting before the recent updates? How many are you receiving now? Please fix it.

This, this and only this. It Doesnt matter if you´re use to run 100 apps/programs while grinding, if it worked before the updates it should be working too after, just compare taking into account pre and post updates laggy complaints.

agreed to all of this. I don't get what is so hard to understand about the recent issues/complaints.

Ok simple enough:
1. I made no hardware nor software changes in the last 2 weeks.
2. I never experienced lag before recent PS updates.
3. Now I do, and it's only PokerStars that lags. No way whatsoever it's the ISP.

This is an interesting point, anyone else paid attention to the exact times the lag occurred?
