Hello,

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

PokerStars has recently experienced some technical difficulties on the site.
However, these issues have been resolved now and normal play has resumed.

We will be considering refunds for materially affected players. "Materially
affected" means you missed a considerable number of hands and lost a
significant portion of your chip stack due to blinds and antes. If you
believe you were materially affected by this issue, please email us with the
following subject line:

"REFUND: T#_________, $X+Y, User ID"

Where "________" is the Tournament ID, "X+Y" is the buy-in of the
tournament, and "USERID" is your PokerStars User ID.

For example, "REFUND: T#123456780, $20 + 2, KidJoker"

For multiple tournament refund requests, please note additional tournaments
in the text of your email. For example:

T#123456780, $20 + 2
T#123456781, $10 + 1,
T#123456782, $50 + 5
etc.

If you do not know the Tournament ID, you can find it in the PokerStars
software using the playing audit feature. From the PokerStars Lobby screen,
select:

'Requests -> Playing History Audit...'

Please also be aware that your refund request may take a few days to be
processed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Best Regards,

Melania

From what I understand they will only refund if you actually lost chips because of blinds or antes.

But most of us didn't lose anything, just didn't have the opportunity to play until the blinds got so high the starting stack was only 5 blinds.

nobody really got 'blinded out' right ? Its about the promise of a tournament with a specific setup where they change the setup/tournament. If I knew I would have 10bbs after 2 hands I might have not registered.

Materially

cool definition of materially, how about

Materially = losing EV in the tournament by playing 1 hand before the level 75/150,

from their definition yeah i missed a considerable number of hands and lost a significant advantage to build a chip stack

how the hell can people lose blinds and antes when the tournament is frozen....LOL

There's no way they'll get away with not refunding people, we signed up for a tournament with a starting stack and blind levels specified, what happened was we missed entire blind levels that were promised.

My refund was for the $11 1000-seat gtd satellite to today's Sunday 7 Mil. I sent a support ticket email from the PS client while the tourney was doing its thing.

It sends to support@pokerstars.com so that's who you want to e-mail your refund request to.
I got this in response:

So I sent an email to support@pokerstars.com with subject line "REFUND: T#709070101, $10+$1, (my username)" and in the message body I explained the terrible situation of that tourney, that I know they must be swamped with damage control, but that a refund is only fair.
I also attached my hand history file (of all 8 hands I got to see!!!) to make their life a bit easier (if that actually helps).

Bing bang boom, quick and simple refund granted. I wish I could've had a fair chance at actually playing the S7M but **** happens, and they dealt with it well enough.

so by dealing with it fair enough you mean refunding players who bother to send an email,

dealing with it "fair enough" would be sending an email to every player in that tournament and refunding everyone

if that was the sunday storm and everyone came back with 5k stacks at 250/500 im sure the approach would be alot different and also the uproar would be more from the community

the fact it was a sattelite is irrelevant it had a big as prize pool as most sunday storms do

There is huge diff between that happening to sunday storm and this sat.
Stars don't want to make 1000+ seats added to sunday million for free, as as it makes it's huge overlay tourney then. So i doubt they ever refund anyone not sending mail. Caring for recs (who won't send mails and find ID of tourney etc etc etc.) means caring for their rake.

Thank you for your email and patience whilst we reviewed your refund request.

We have completed the review and credited your account with the amount of the tournament buy-in ($11 for T#709070101). Please be aware that this is a credit at PokerStars expense, as your original buy-in was distributed as a part of the tournament prize pool.

Unfortunately we cannot grant you a refund for T#709010003.

In order to keep the blinds stable whilst we worked on resolving these issues, we paused the Sunday Storm and the Sunday Million. As such, all players were affected equally by these issues and we are unable to offer any refunds.
I only emailed 5 minutes ago. They're indiscriminately offering refunds for the satellite but not for the SS/SM.
