I have a feeling that it is something in the software that is causing the lags/lockups. I have a theory that maybe it's something to do with tournament lobbies and the main tournament lobby and the way they are refreshed. I tried opening lots of big MTT lobbies alongside a game and there was some performance hit. But when I close all MTT lobbies AND ensure that the main PokerStars lobby is not showing the tournament list, ie. showing something that doesn't update as often like the Zoom poker tab, it performs more smoothly.

Maybe it's worth giving that a try if you're experiencing big problems.

And I think maybe the reason lag issues are affecting everyone to different degrees is dependent on what computer system they are running and whether it can cope as well with the lockups from the software.

That's my stab at trying to solve this anyway

* So in summary, maybe try closing all tournament lobbies and ensuring the main Stars lobby is not displaying the MTT schedule.

lag was gross for 90 mins around the 1r3t MM, otherwise surprisingly fine, but still not acceptable!

+1... this happens every session to me. The roommates just 12-16 table, but I try to play 26 so I probably deserve it or whatever.... but at least once per session I have what was described above happen to me... I know posting in here doesn't help the problem and that I've already made it known that I was experiencing lag and all, but it does help me vent frustration... This is going to be the first month I don't maintain supernova, surely Stars has a solution for this kind of a problem when volume is affected?

Wow played decided to play my first mtt session in ages and i've got 6 tables up and it's nearly unplayable. I finally get what you guys are talking about now. Was planning on making a big day out of it. Just unregistered everthing else and won't be playing another tourney until they fix this ****.

Now do go fishing or play video games with my now freed up day?

That`s from one of my Emails to Bryan as I`m prolly one of the persons with the worst lag(Client was 2 times totally frozen for a longer time, waiting for a refund - and even did send a video for proof).
I didn`t really play for a week now it just totally sucks.

for those of you having really bad lag issues, what are you pc specs?

specifically what kind of processor are you running, what speed of graphics card are you running, and what is your pc's memory?

Question to bryan: Is it possible that the recent site upgrades requires alot more processing/memory power for users and could be at the core of the problem?

Doubtful, I got relatively new computer with quad processor and 16gb of ram.

8 GB Ram
Quadcore(not the newest)

and AMD Radeon HD 6850

I play SC2 with good graphics without lag and I highly doubt that Pokerstars 24 tables > SC2

150k plus traffic+late registration(seating, updating payouts)on many huge tournaments seems to be part of the problem.4 hours ago everything was fine.I guess when micromillions are over everything will be as usual.Till then 6tabling looks good on peak hours.

I have this problem for a week max, maybe less.I also notice that when the 2 hour late registration of a mm tourney ends the tables run smoother.I dont know what to say it doesnt make any sense.Maybe my problem is not the same with others here(i saw some people had huge dcs)i never had any freeze bigger than 2 seconds and i never get dced from the client.
