Same for scoops if you have the 2s anywhere
There was a big strat thread at the finnish forums recently where a super smart guy built a simulation tool and gave strat advice. It turned out that 3flush and 3 straights at the start are underrated. Like if you have a small pair and 3 small suited cards it's better to play it 3flush-pair-x (or similarly 3straight-pair-x) or even break the pair for a 3flush instead of going pair+card-card-card. A lot of other stuff too that really blew my mind.
Also apparently the way you should build your hand in pos matters a LOT more than people think and you should avoid auto-piloting. Example from the thread was that if you have 2256A, 56A being rainbow in pos,
Against JQ3s 86, you should make your hand traditionally: 225 – A6 –
But if he has 88T A K, the correct way to build your hand is quite shockingly (imo) 56 – 22 – A
Another fun game for traveling is the "Vaasa" chinese. I'm not sure if this is how it got invented, this is just the story as I've heard it.
Two finnish highrollers were on a plane going somewhere. It was almost fully booked so they couldn't get seats next to each other to play chinese. What they did was split the deck in half so they both have 26 cards. They spent the flight forming 2x 13 card chinese hands that would play criss cross against the other guy's hand with astronomical stakes. It's a pretty epic leveling game but it hurts my head so much.
