Irony of ICM is that if your opponent doesn't play correctly, you get punished for his mistakes.

When I got into MTTs and 2p2, Max and Marcel were 2 of the first people I spoke to about poker and then became friends with, therefore what has happened to both of them since that time feels like a pretty salutory lesson about the downsides of playing poker full time for a lot of people.

I had been thinking about how 4 years ago during WSOPE/WCOOP I stayed with both of them in London for a couple of weeks, Marcel was pretty busto at the time and Max was in a decent amount of MU, but they were both young and hungry to succeed, meanwhile I had already decided to go back to university, which was starting maybe 3 weeks later, still not finsihed yet

Anyway, within a few weeks Marcel had started his heater and a few months later Max got 2nd in Berlin and San Remo, it seemed like both of them had the world at their feet and I just cant help but wonder how it all come to this. To be honest the 3 of us staying together seems more like a lifetime ago.

I haven't seen either of them in quite a while, I vividly remember last seeing Marcel looking a huge mess at UKIPT Nottingham, probably in 2012, which was not long before he pretty much dropped off the face of the earth.

I kept in touch with Max alot more to begin with, but not much in the last 2 years as I have transitioned into playing less poker, but I still feel like I should have realised something was up sooner and spoker to him

The likely conclusion is probably that I am just not a great judge of character but I have found the whole thing to be pretty depressing

i stayed with marcel and stealthmunk in the same room at PCA one year.

strange that hotkarl unfriended me on facebook a few weeks ago, but wouldn't be all that surprised by him knowing some degenerative tendencies.

At least I got to experience the conversation between mickey and hkmc asking what he thought of the A6o shove with mickey saying something to the affect of "quite ambitious" and watching his face and then hkmc substantiating it over the next 10 minute of car ride.

Go to club at the venetian hookah bar and hang out with a few 2p2'r's and enjoy vodka and hookah. Get the drinks flowing and everyone is enjoying themselves.

The hookah bar is a naturally smelly place and I catch a whiff of something and I can't figure out what it is, but its very distinct. I started getting disgusted cuz I figure out that its vomit and then my eyes confirm some on the floor.

I follow the path to where it is from as I see it over the couch cushions....right up to hkmc and he's not paying attention to anything except for wiping it all over his shirt so no one will see he got sick, as he would discuss about how much he could drink, etc. During the time I didn't want to shame him, but also just moved about as far away as I could from the area.

lol ya that was when stealthmunk tried to make a bet were it was your $500 or 1k to him jumping off the balcony. fun times....

golly, ya you can easily move money between your poker wallet and sports betting wallet. Not sure if its any good, don't have any other ipoker skin to compare it to, but I find it pretty meh.

Maybe I'll detail that trip in my book I'm never going to write.
