You had plenty of time to sort it out like everyone else had. It coincided with the biggest tournament series to be held at their site.
If you forget something it's on you.
There is so much wrong with this kind of thinking...
First off, what if I was on vacation or taking a hiatus from poker for whatever reason and had a bunch of points stored up? If there's some cash lying around your house and I tell you to put it in the bank by next week or I'm taking it, is it ok for me to do so? I've definitely gone through stretches of not logging in to party for several months and having 5k+ points. Second off, I often use a different email address for poker accounts and don't follow poker on social media, because frankly, I really don't want to. I, and I'm sure many others, are desensitized to poker ads/banners. You just tune them out after a while and disable them whenever you can. Plus I checked, and I got no email from party regarding this, inbox or spam. The only way I could've reliably gotten this info is if I'm one of the rare few that visits this forum, otherwise it'd have been very confusing (and still is).
Perhaps most importantly, I looked at my balance several times during powerfest but every time decided it was dumb to spend my points. I had something like 3315 points at the end where I could spend 3200 for T200$ or 3333 for T300$. I had one day after powerfest and like I said before, yes, it slipped my mind that one day from the scoop/inferno/powerfest hangover. If the points had been converted or automatically bought the 3200 point bonus I'd have been sad but it would've been my own fault, but having it just be completely gone with no compensation whatsoever is ridiculous. The 60 day notice is basically useless if you still keep earning points during this period. The only way that would've been useful is if the exchange was a flat %, not this super topheavy if you exchange more points at the same time you get more value thing.
By the way, unless I missed it, there was nothing stating explicitly what would happen with leftover points. Because everyone has some leftover points and/or had to convert at a ****ty rate for their last points unless you're super lucky and somehow had exactly whatever good rate bonus was costing after powerfest. It was vague and I kind of wasn't paranoid about it because I was starting to get close to the feeling with party that I had with pre-amaya pokerstars.
I've supported party partly because I like their site/goals and want a strong alternative to stars, which meant playing some of the toughest games for their buyins online. I, and I'm sure others who didn't exchange points in time, also helped them recoup many times the value in points left in my account just from straight up reducing overlays. I really do hope this isn't just a big middle finger. Again, just convert everyone's leftover points at 15 or 20% or whatever the lower rate was, that should be plenty of punishment for me or anyone else not exchanging at 35% or whatever. I'm ok with losing a few k's on a sunday, but losing money like this feels super awful.
