So I was poking around 2+2 and found this thread and thought I would give you all an "insiders" prospective on Mr. Nicholas Rainey and RainmanPoker.
It is true that I resigned from RainmanPoker.net, and I did so for a lot of reasons which I will cover them here.
Quick history, I have known Nick for about a year and a half, starting working as a coach with our students back in November of 2009. I decided to move out to LA in April of this year for 3 months to work on building RainmanPoker with him & Bodeye.
I quickly found out the Nick was two completely different people online vs in person. Online he was a great guy, but as soon as I moved out to LA there were flashes of him just snapping over the littlest things, throwing mice, and just acting like a child at times.
Once we moved out to Vegas it got progressively worse and he proceeded to treat everyone around him very poorly.
I left because of Nick's constant unprofessionalism, lack of respect towards his "business partners", which he really just used us to get what he wanted and then do whatever he could do to push us out of the business and screw us out of tens of thousands.
I will speak for myself, we had made a verbal gentleman's agreement when we started that the original capital invested would be paid back, however Nick has stated none of the money will be paid back as I had resigned. He owes me $12,000 and none of that includes profit from the business, which I have not seen a penny since May 1.
If any of you are subscribers of RainmanPoker, I heard in his last webinar that he called both Bodeye and myself, "useless". I find this funny coming from someone who can't put his shoes on without some help.
Imo RainmanPoker and the staking business would not have been what it was without Bodeye and myself, and now see that it seems to be dwindling.
I did my best to make sure we stayed profitable, however the house in Vegas was eating so much profit that it turned out not to be the best investment and once I mentioned this to him he will say something that has no bearing on the conversation, something along the lines of attacking you personally. He never looks at things constructively and always makes impulse decisions which is never good for business.
So unprofessionalism, no respect for others, essentially stealing and no values or morals and acting like a child if he doesn't get what he wants is the reason I left, as I do not associate myself with people like that and I am very happy with my decision to leave.
I also forgot to mention that he takes great joy in putting people down and trying to make feel bad. This alone just disgusts me, example would be one of Channing's (Nick's girlfriend) friends, calling her "fat and ugly" on her Facebook wall.
Quoting Channing, "None of my friends like Nick and if he keeps acting like he does he will have no friends left".
It says something when your long term girlfriend says something like that.
Also when both of your cars get repoed within the last year goes to show you how well he handles his finances.
I have to say I think he might have a bit of a bipolar disorder as he can go from happy, to throwing a chair across a room in a split second. Now I think it might be because of the amount of Adderall he takes, screwing with the chemicals in his brain, whatever the case, I think it is worth getting checked out.
There is more, but I think you get the idea. This coming from someone who lived with Nick for the last two and a half months.
Cheers,
