i have 27 inch and its faultless, also better value for money than 30 inch- u cud always get another if u like- finally easier to fit on an airplane- just barely falls into normal luggage

I'm on a mac now with 27" 2560x1440 monitor and it can tile 12 tables with hud easily.

Also nice to put lobbies in 2nd workspace and 4 finger swipe to them with left hand while keeping right hand on mouse. Auto swipes you back to table workspace when action is on you.

Why would you go through the extra hoops when all of the stuff you use is windows software? Leading Sony and Toshiba notebooks are very high quality although no one currently has screens with as many pixels as mac books.

Not worth the price if you're going to be running Windows on it >50% anyways. Those things are nice, but cheaper laptop + external monitor seems like the way to go. Those things are like $2500 if you actually put a decent one together.

SSDs run better with a larger % of free space. I have read such and can confirm with my own drives. I don't really know the stats, but when 95% of my drive was full I was getting noticeably lower load times for video games.

Also, I'd recommend at least 240gb if you are going to run on only an SSD. Databases take up a lot of space.

Strange, I've never run into that problem before. Filling any drive to capacity is generally a bad idea though, I guess.

And to whoever was looking at the Probook up there.. all of our techs at work use them. They're alright, built a little sturdier than most in that price range. If you want to do any sort of gaming on it, I would look elsewhere though.

Spilled water on my old "poker laptop" yesterday so I think it's probably done. Looking to get another one for poker mainly...I currently have a 2 yr old macbook that I use for non-poker use. I used to run vmware fusion but it sucked and it slowed down the computer a lot. I assume that even the newer ones have similar problems with windows emulators...

so what would people suggest for a new laptop? On sundays it could be 8-10 sites + pokertracker but probably no more than 18-20 tables at any point. I just want it to be perfectly streamlined for poker and as fast as possible (no lag etc)...what kind of specs should I be looking for? or is there any laptop that's just the best to get. It's going to be connecting to a 27 inch samsung led monitor fwiw

I just got a MacBook Pro Retina (the cheapest version) and I'll put it to test this Sunday. Right now I installed Windows on it and I'll be running that but at the end of the session I'll run some multitabling tests with Parallels and stuff and see how it goes.

Anyone wanna share their experiences with asus laptops? Im thinking of getting a gaming line one it has great reviews, is cheaper than mbp, has seemingly great specs and i wont have to use a windows emulator

I picked up this asus (http://www.cnet.com/laptops/asus-k72...-33971862.html) laptop a couple years ago and I've been pretty happy with it. Although I've had some issues with it lately and I think it's to do with the battery although I'm not entirely sure.

Also, wondering what you guys use to clean your computer screens?

I will buy the new MBP in a month because I currently don't have a laptop and I want something that will last me for a few years (plus I recently converted from the dark side and became an Apple fan boy). Where I live the 2.3 GHz model with 218Gb of flash storage is ~$1,985 and the 2.6 GHz model with 512Gb of flash storage is ~$2,575. I'm not that familiar with specs except for storage and RAM. What do I get exactly for an extra $600 and is it worth it considering the laptop isn't cheap to begin with? I will probably keep my large files in an external hard drive so I guess 218Gb is enough to sync my iPhone/iPad and keep poker/school stuff. I also plan to take an upgrade to 16 GB of RAM for ~$180 since I sometimes run memory intensive softwares and this upgrade will also be useful a few years down the road when everything will consume much more memory. I used to have an Alienware with 8Gb of RAM and the memory was always maxed out lol. I was satisfied with the performance but it was ridiculously heavy.
