I'm placing my car in storage and flying out. A car really isn't necessary in Cabo. Pretty much everything is in walking distance, and when it's not (rare) you can take a cab.

I didn't run the fantasy league. I just think it'd be too much work and I don't have the time as I need to pack, do laundry, etc. before I move.

i miss being able to go out and make friends that arent

1. also poker players
2. working in a tourist industry down here
3. tourists leaving in a few days

theres no kind of social life down here aside from playing poker. that's fine since i'm down here to work, but i'd still like to have some kind of social outlet. skype and google+ only do so much to keep in touch with reality.

cabo is literally a beach in the middle of the desert in the middle of nowhere. people think of hawaii when they hear cabo, but it's more like rural nevada.


i also miss affordable cranberry juice, nfl games and a few other things. i wouldnt be here if it wasnt for poker, and while there are a lot of draws to the town, it's far from some paradise.

i will say that it's very americanized and for the most part it's very easy to make the transition from living in an american city to cabo. there is almost no change and if you had been blindfolded, taken here, and could ignore the language barrier, you'd think you were walking around some small american city. most luxuries and brands are available, at a very inflated price most of the time

theres plenty of places to buy diapers. how much does your baby do the numero dos? if it's a lot, go to costco, if not, try walmart.

if you're hungry try the 24h subway, starbucks, or take a stroll for some mcdonalds. domino's delivers but i support the local chains, makes no difference really. theres a burger king, johnny rockets, ruth chris steakhouse. no chipotle, but youll fall in love with the $2 tacos on the streets

metric system adjustment isnt too bad. i feel bad im not already fluent in the metric system, as america sure missed the ball on that one

i like it just fine here, but i could never see myself living here longterm. ive been exactly 2 months as of this upcoming friday

So tell me all the restaurants that are within walking distance? Which one do you like the most? What about the grocery store, its a mile and a half away, why would I want to take a cab ride there rather walking? Are there any unsafe areas specifically close by central cabo? Who do I talk to about getting a good deal on jet ski rentals? Are there any good delivery places open past midnight? Why do you miss your friends and family already when you haven't even left yet?

wat? Both of my roommates/best friends have been there for a week or so and I've talked to them and my realtor every day about everything. I think I posted pretty accurate information. I live in a really ****ty state in the US (Michigan) and have been wanting to GTFO for a long time. I cannot fathom missing MI beside for friends and family.

there are no short term directtv contracts in mexico and satellite equipment (like all electronics in mexico) are very expensive. even for a group of poker players who generally have no regard for money and love football, it's still very expensive and not very logistical unless you commit to staying

we can stream games through various outlets but that requires an extra laptop since everyone is grinding on a sunday, and there arent many of those. plus you can only have one game on at a time, cant flip back and forth, etc.

i hate playing saturdays and mondays, and there are tons of sportsbars to chill, drink and watch games. but for sundays it ****ing blows, and it's something i really do miss the most, and im not even a huge NFL fan
