someone I know died today and the funeral will be held during a tournament in which I satt'd in for via pokerstars (UKIPT Nottingham). Any idea how they usually handle this kind of situation?

depends on how close u were, but you asking about this prolly means u 2 weren't bffffff.
if im not mistaken you can use the seat for another ukipt later in the schedule, might be an option, no?

wtf. I know the person well and I will 100% be attending the funeral. I just wanted to know how stars usually treats this situation. Try having a little more respect in future and not questioning or ASSUMING how close I was with said person.

I'm pretty sure they've let some people unreg from seats won before in special circumstances. Would be surprised if they didn't refund you the seat.

This. They've definitely let people switch for lesser reasons before and the fact that you're a huge rake contributor (for a decent period of time) and you don't have a history of trying to milk the system means I'd be surprised if they don't let you switch for another UKIPT at a minimum.
