I have no idea who the hell this guy is but he definitely combines all of my favorite aspects of bears and Jews into one neurotic package

btw, how old is this kid out of curiosity? Reminds me a little of a young CompleteDonk. Funny, arrogant, good at poker and rude all at the same time. That in itself is a talent!

Everyone here needs to stop bashing tbj, I dont care if he "invited" or "deserves" it, if you dont like his posts use the ***** ignore button and gtfo elsewhere to make fun of others to make yourself feel better.

Also did anyone notice that Mr. Gilmore can't even spell the word professional? It happens more than once so it wasn't even a typo.

Its not like SM spends the other 90% of his time doing this when hes not making 'cry for help' posts is it?

He gets a lot of thoughtful and helpful posts/support yadda yadda, and every time just end up using each thread to massage his ego.

Im not even convinced the posts are as genuine as he makes out anymore. They are all just a means to get on his soapbox and get the attention he craves.

In before I am berated in some form from various sources.

inb4 pca ship

as for the bet, asked my mom and she snap accepted but she's weird anyway, she prolly has about 2k lifesavings and is making enough/month to get a long fine but 1k is essential to her, she's somewhat of a degen, when she saw pius winning the main she called me and asked me why I don't get in WSOP main, I tried to explain BRM etcetc but she wouldn't understand, she actually said:"say if you had 10k$ you wouldn't play the tournament?" so I go:"exactely"
she just laughed at me and said:"I don't understand you"

Since FTP will be back soon, you got money locked up? cause that would put things in a better perspective

Re: Mindnumbing Probability Rant

Why don't you play on Merge for a while? Would be pretty easy for you to find a stake if you needed it and getting money on/off really isn't that difficult. You'd easily make five figures per month just grinding their bigger tournaments and although they don't have high stakes cash there's still a lot of money to be made at 3/6+

Re: Mindnumbing Probability Rant

Everything we do is a gamble. Everything we do has a risk attached and has ev attached to it. 99.9% people in the world who don't take this flip are making a terrible decision and the reasoning that they are anti-gambling/refuse to gamble is just illogical.

I guess for.1% of people (at least in the western world) the flip may be life -ev if losing means they can't afford to eat/live in the forseeable future...but then if they are in that situation it is still prob +ev since the upside is massive.

Re: Mindnumbing Probability Rant

It doesnt matter how much money you have btw, if you are almost any reasonable person* and dont snap take 5k for a 50/50 at a million you are beyond retarded. If my net worth is $0 and the only job I could ever have pays $6/hr I would still take this bet instantly and its not even close.

(*people in special circumstances such as monks etc. are not considered)

Re: Mindnumbing Probability Rant

Stealth,
I know you probably aren't interested in what I have to say, but I like you and am def rooting for you to turn it around. I'm going to post some advice that has helped me and I hope it can do the same for you.

1. Work on your health, be more active. All you need to do to start is go for 20-30 min walks, and cut out some junk food.

2. Spend less time in front of the computer/tv screens.

3. Stop trying to win every argument, one of the reasons I like you is that you are normally correct, however you can be extremely antagonistic which rubs many people the wrong way. People don't like it when others are constantly trying to show them they are wrong, you don't need to win every argument.

4. It is very hard to play poker well when your life is in disarray. You obviously have some family issues, venting about them on an internet forum isn't going to help. Try to work on them (I understand this is incredibly difficult) take baby steps, any improvement is impressive as far as I'm concerned.

5. Poker isn't life, in fact the money you can make from poker is peanuts compared to what the real ballers make. You are very smart, and willing to work hard if motivated properly. There's nothing wrong with advancing past poker, that tends to be what a lot of HSNL crushers end up doing.

6. Don't kill yourself, its irrational because what you are going through wont last, and it would be the cowards way out.

Keep your head up

If your net worth is $0 then how do you take this bet? Where do you get the $5k from?

Are you just going to say yes to the bet and freeroll it as you do not have the $5k to pay it?

Most of the people in this forum will get that it is a great bet to take, not all of them will be in the position to be able to have or raise the stake needed for the bet.

If your answer is that you can beg or borrow the $5k, then again not everyone is in a position to do that.
