The 1st prize for these events are high 4 digits or low 5 digits which is pretty nice though i rarely play any tournaments and of course cannot play anymore b/c i live in the usa.
I know there are very few people that play live tourneys for a living because it is just plain stupid because of how time consuming it is and the variance and how you can go on for 3+ months without a cash even if your a top player.
But i basically want to play some live tourneys and would like to know what tourneys there are that takes place say weekly or monthly where the buyin isn't so high yet isn't very low and it draws a great amount of players and have a pretty good prize pool.
I'm from New York by the way so i have went to AC numerous times. But the tourneys there i see are pretty bad. Like at Taj, they have a daily $60 tourney where it draws less than 100 players and 1st place is pretty low. At Borgata, they have a daily $120 tourney and i read it draws about 100 runners but i still would want to play in a tourney where the buyin is higher. But besides the WSOP and WPT events which would be way too expensive for me in terms of buyin and of course lot of good players, can someone tell me what tourneys there are that exist that offer pretty good value where the buyin is pretty decent and have a nice payout? I have basically limited tourney experience but don't mind playing many $500 live tourneys just to get a hang of it and see if i can bink a tourney.
I see many people talk about tourneys like Venetian $560 Buyin but can someone tell me how much 1st place is for those tourneys and how often these tourneys happen? Do they have better tournaments than Bellagio?
I'm talking about live tournaments where the buyin is between say $300-$1000 where its not too low where 1st place pays not much and not too high where its too much money to buyin.
Would L.A be the best option and then Las Vegas? Is AC pretty much worthless since the only big tournaments they have is when Borgata has those big events? I think Taj has the US Poker Championship but i recalled there was never much a lot of players that played in it. Is that true?
I heard a lot of good things about the Commerce.
And are there actually daily tournaments where buyins are $300-$1000 or is that only a weekly/monthly thing?
