Looking for horse to play live WPT in San Jose, 5 Mar 2012

I'm looking for a minimum of 2 horses for the World Poker Tour Shooting Stars Tournament at Bay101 on 5 Mar 2012 in San Jose, CA

Bay101 will be having a series of Satellites all throughout the month of February.

I will be looking to put at least 2 horses into Satellites for the WPT main event

The arrangement is as follows:

I will bear 100% of the cost of the satellite and if you bust out, you owe absolutely nothing. However, if you win a seat to either the Main Event or the $2K seat event (Mar 4th and 5th) then you will be obligated to play in those events.

If you cash in an event, then we will split the cash 50/50 once my satellite costs (to include my other horses) have been recouped. If multiple horses cash, then my satellite costs will be recouped by splitting the cost equally between the horses (this will favor whomever cashes at a higher finish)

So, lets say I have 5 horses which would be five satellites totalling $1,250

2 horses cash, horse A cashes for $30K and horse B cashes for $4k

$625 will come from each of their cashes to cover my satellite costs and then the remainder will be split between myself and each respective horse. So Horse A will recieve 50% of $29,375 and Horse B will recieve 50% of $3,375

If you win a seat but then are unable to play the Main Event (or $2k seat event) for any reason to include Act of God, then I retain ownership of the seat and can award it to anyone at my discretion.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a legal resident of the US 21+ years old
Must not be the subject of any legal actions or lawsuits
Must not have any liens against you
Must have a valid Social Security Number and two forms of picture ID and proof of residence
Must be able to play a Satellite on one of the following dates: Feb 17th, 18th, 24th, or 25th
Must be able to play in the Main Event (Mar 5th - 9th) or $2k event (Mar 4th-5th) if you win a seat.
Must sign a contract stipulating all of the above terms

What am I looking for?

I'm looking for online players that have decent track records online. I don't need you to be in the top 99th percentile (though that would be great), I just need you to be experienced with tourneys, especially MTTs and 180 SnGs.

Bonus points if you have some experience playing live so you won't be thrown off by the physicalities of live play.

You can either reply in this thread with your stats and screenname or send me a PM.

Basically, if you are a winning or break even player then i'd be interested in seeing your stats

Re: Looking for horse to play live WPT in San Jose, 5 Mar 2012

EDIT: As far as the line 'Must not be a subject of any legal actions or suits'

I just mean anything that could be a legal lien vs potential winnings. I could care less about a past conviction, parking tickets, if you were busted for pot, etc. etc.

Also, i'm not running more than 5 horses, so 2 - 5 tops.

How many horses are you planning on having? This contract leaves it open for you to put a ton of horses in and have the few that cashed pay a significant financial penalty for the other horses not doing well.

Hmmmmm....

Okay, I think what I'll do is have it to where $500 comes off the top to cover my risk/expenses and after that, 50/50 split.

So brutal that one would have to play a sat in February to qualify, I would 100% do this if I could play a satellite on March 2-4 instead of in February.

Re: Looking for horse to play live WPT in San Jose, 5 Mar 2012

I got a PM asking if this was ONLY for those who live in the Bay Area.

No, this is open to everyone that meets my requirements.

If you can make it to this area for the satellites and WPT tourney then that is all that matters.

If you aren't from the area and manage to win the satellite, then we'll figure something out for your lodging

Re: Looking for horse to play live WPT in San Jose, 5 Mar 2012

Check the satellite structure. They are typically 1 rebuy plus an add-on. Don't know what they are this year, but you might want to plan for max expenditure, and if not, be sure the horse knows that going in.

You should also specify what happens to the bounties. Part of the winnings just as a position cash might be? They also often include seats to the WPT Championship, which you'll want to spell out the terms on just in case you stake the winner.

Also, what happens if you put a guy into a satellite and he doesn't win a seat, but cashes in the satellite? Say a satty awards 4 seats and the 5th place guy gets $4500.

Re: Looking for horse to play live WPT in San Jose, 5 Mar 2012

All terms will be clearly outlined in the agreement i'll send each applicant.

But essentially I outlined everything in the above proposal.

Any cash will entail $500 coming back to me and then a 50/50 split

So, lets say a horse wins a seat and $750 cash. Then $500 comes back to me and then we split the remaining $250 50/50. If the horse takes the seat and cashes, then since the initial $500 was already covered by the first cash, then the 2nd cash would be a straight 50/50 split

In the terms of a horse winning $4500 and no seat, then again, $500 comes back to me and the remainder is a 50/50 split

Lastly, I will say that as a poker player i'm not looking to screw anyone. I will make the aggreement in good faith as well as address any and all concerns the player may have.

Given that I'm not asking for any make-up whatsoever, I feel that my terms are good terms.

Okay, it's such an atypical tournament as far as when money can be won (there's also a $10k bonus for Day 1 chipleader) that I wanted to throw that stuff out there. Wish I was good enough to give this a try.
