I'm thinking of relocating to the UK to be able to play online and live. I know London pretty well from many previous visits but areas I stayed in probably cost more than how much I'm willing to pay, eg. Paddington, Bayswater, Islington, etc etc.

I know there are other parts of the UK where there's live games, eg. Nottingham/Dusk Till Dawn, Manchester, etc but London of course has its advantages of there being much more to do besides poker etc..

Thanks for your help.
I live in Queensway which is on Central line, with Bayswater for District and Circle lines 30 seconds away. 15 min walk from The Vic, direct bus to Fox.

£800 a month for a studio flat including all bills. Save enough on travel to make up a bit extra, plus one payment for water, electric, council tax etc. makes my life much easier.

Is safe enough, and 2 mins from supermarkets, shopping centre, and high street.

Re: London grinders (UK)

Cheerio mates, I'm coming to London for three weeks to take a course and was wondering where is the best place in town to play? Also, I haven't played a tourney since black friday, and was wondering if I could find a decent one to play in on a weekend? Thanks

flying out tonight, and staying until the 13th. Also, would anyone know where the best place to convert dollars to pounds would be? I assume all the places at the airport screw you over, but do banks also charge you a vig? Basically, anywhere to convert vig free?

The Fox has a 150 GBP tourny next sunday then a 2 day main event thing for 300 GBP the following weekend both will probably get like 120ish players. it's between soho and chinatown

How do you guys handle the rent situation at the start? Pretty much refusing to pay six months rent in advance. Has anyone showed them your bank statements or something similar?
