Latest Push-Bot Charts Latest Push-Bot Charts

I am posting the latest Push-Bot Chart below. This chart is based on a study I did of the calling ranges in the 45-man $60 Turbos , when someone is pushing with less than 10M in an unentered pot. My study found that you will be called lighter when you are pushing from the SB, Dealer, or Cutoff, and that the blinds call lighter than the other positions. No big surprises there, but the charts do reflect that. The charts also reflect that the calling ranges are imperfect, in that sometimes the person holding A6o will call you, and sometimes will fold.
Anyway, the chart is shown below. Use it if you find it useful. The chart works in the usual way. For example, here is A4s:

C1 C2 Suit 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
A 4 s 21.9 10.1 7.7 7 5 3.5 3 2.6

The chart says to push with 7 in the 4th position. This means that if you are 4 positions from the BB, and you have less than 7M, than you should push.
A weakness of the charts is that, as you progress through the tournament, your pushes become less valuable, because each individual chip is less valuable. So you have to become more conservative in your pushes. I have 12 other charts that show adjusted pushing ranges, as you gain more and more of the available chips. For example, if you own 6% of the chips, you have to become much more conservative in your pushes:

A 4 s 14.5 6.7 3.8 3.5 2.9 2.4 2 1.7

C1 C2 Suit 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

jcm4ccc is saying that it pushing 99 UTG with 30 M should expect a return of at least one chip if all of his assumptions about the opponents hold. There may be more profitable ways to play this hand.

Anyway, if you would like the 12 other charts, I am selling them for $20. Just transfer $20 to my pokerstars account (jcm4ccc) and then send me a private message here with your email address, and I will send you all the charts in Excel sheets.

Two things:
1) This is a strat post, and should be in MTT strategy.
2) If it were in MTT strategy, we'd point out that we can't really evaluate this without knowing the assumptions upon which it is based. This includes not just the calling ranges, but also what data you used to assign those calling ranges.

OP - Thanks!

I'm moving away from SNG's because they are a freaking joke IMO.

I am planning to play just small stakes 180's from now on, since they are incredibily soft (played about 20 last night and am around 50% roi atm...).

What general adjustments would you make adjusting this chart for 180 small stakes tourneys?

Thanks again

I'm not hating. Putting something like this together is a ton of work, but it's in the wrong place. I'm hoping a mod will move it to a strategy forum, where we can discuss the assumptions and ranges that go into building it.

I dont think shoving 32o from the SB in the higher level ones is very profitable. Even randoms in the $60s put you on ATC and cal you with QJs or K3o.

3 2 o 13.8 5.5 3.5 3.2 2.6 2.1 1.8

Am i reading this right? You should shove 5.5M stack or something like 8.25 bbs w/o antes on button with 32o or like 13.5 bbs with like 1/10th bb antes. And 1.8M stack utg? I would def fold 32o UTG and just take my chances in the bb.

Can you post the calling ranges you used for your opponents? That would be extremely helpful.

jcm,

are you saying the pushbot charts you published (in pdf format) is now outdated? If so, would you be able to make a newly updated one that is all organized into a pdf? I am willing to pay for it. PM me if you're interested.

He probably used a tight calling range for utg push but when you have less than 3 M or so you wont always get that many folds so I definitely fold the 32o and pretty sure its standard to

This chart is great, wish it was a little more readable though

His old charts are awesome, guys. I think his post got edited against his will. THe old charts had 3 different assumed calling ranges you could use for your opponents. I'm sure he has all this worked out again, but wasn't allowed to put it up.

I have been using the old chart for years and make a good amount of money using it. So, yeah, PM me, OP.

With regard to the 99 UTG question, the charts only compare the options of folding or going all in. That's all. So you would probably be better off raising than either of those, but you would certainly be better off shoving than folding.

you know neither of those hands is a lock against 32o, right? they might fold those hands - or worse ones - or they might call, but just 'cause they hit the "call" button doesn't automatically ship the chips to them.
