I enjoy bananas recreationaly but never play on them. I've kind of been easing off them lately as I've gotten more into working out again, but they are still my go to method for dealing with my insomnia.

This.

Started living with a new roommate in August who has a volcano so my banana consumption has increased a lot. I rarely play while on bananas and anyone who doesn't already have bananas on a regular or semi-regular basis definitely should not try playing on them.

A big +1 on the insomnia.

Re: ITT we talk about bananas

My worst while playing on dem naners had to be one time some guy tried to resteal on me with 74o. My AK actually held, and I was laughing so hard that I timed out on my aces the next hand.

Bananas help me with live home games. Haven't played live in a casino, but in home games, it def helps.

Btw, I'm working on finding the link. I have a hardcopy version of the study, and if I can't find it on the intertrons, I'll just scan it.

So let me know if there is interest.

I have a photographic memory and banana's have never really messed with it as far as I can tell. ate them daily and I can still run a few k's if I have to. ( cause I miss the friggen bus alot when going to work)

after a few years of constant use, you stop noticing any huge difference between smoking/not smoking and can function normally with little to no effort.

Edit: I would not play the main event if I could not guarantee banana's for my play. I would be -ev to the extreme to even think about playing cards w/o bananas.

another +1 on the insomnia... and playing while binging bananas isn't so much a concious decision to play blazed but rather a consequence of being blazed and having nothing worthwhile to do..

I usually have a cup of espresso to my first banana of the day, to keep me from dozing too much. Back up in the northern eurozone we don't eat much raw bananas, as most banana products here are of the compressed pollen kind. I must admit that I like this form of bananas a lot more, due to the stronger taste, though it does make you more sleepy than raw bananas, which is why I really need to combine it with caffeine.

I've had streaks of both exceptionally poor memory, social anxiety/phobia and devestating concentration issues, but I conquered them all through 1-3 month breaks and cognitive therapy. I was offered the usual prozacaments by my therapist, but after a couple of months when I got my memory/concentration back I immidiately ditched the pills for organic foods, as I'm pretty straight-edge when it comes to chemicals/pharmaceuticals.

Haven't looked back since...

LDO

Edit: Count another plus one for insomnia cured, tho I never really had that problem (rather the opposite, lol)...

It was prob closer to 35.. but who's counting?

I've been on ADHD meds all my childhood, so it takes a good bit to hit me.

Haven't been perscribed/ taken any on a reg. basis in 3-4 years, though.

I am a big fella (5'11'' 250+) so I felt I could handle it.

I was zombied out of my mind. Never again.

Re: ITT we talk about bananas

my mother always warned me eating too many bananas causes constipation.

so i never eat more than one a day.

i usually stick with liquids:
starting with 2 or 3 cups of tea,
then 2 cups of coffee,
then some kinds of sirop with soda.

diversevication (sp?) is the key i think.

strong drugs can cause overconcentration, and you need to constantly keep using them, to keep the same level of mental alertness.

the less you need the better.
