yes I would suggest playing about twenty times that before you start talking about things like winrates etc. Don't stop working on your game before you finish those games though

Well, if you are consistently winning over your first 1000 or so games it's a great sign, but being down money after your first 1000 doesn't mean you are a bad player. It's hard to win a big tournament.

I very much doubt the average $200 live player could beat $22 mtts online (not on pokerstars anyway. I would start with $5 mtts and below and go from there. You can play slightly higher buyins on other sites as the players are a lot worse,

Pretty much says it

My advice is to humble yourself and listen to these people, they are giving you quality and honest advice instead of the usual mega troll that you might otherwise get in MTTC ... gl

Ok, there's nothing wrong w/ being a 'feel' player (unless that's the only thing you rely upon) but I'm clarifying it by saying that I use math mainly. Besides, the comments were said to show my disinclination to use a HUD. Anyway...

I *am* humble and that's why I'm here, to get advice. This is supposedly a help forum so I don't understand why anyone would 'expect' to get trolled and be extremely grateful if there's a smidgen of good advice...at least that's not how I operate....if I see someone asking for advice, I'd either try to give it (if I was qualified) or not say anything (i.e. not troll). To set the std so low as stated above is just...wow. *shrug*

EDIT: if you feel that in marginal situations math>>>>feel, then why haven't they yet invented a poker computer that consistently beats humans (a la Deep Blue in chess)? Poker is not pure math 100% of the time.

No one except you said anything about math.
Math is idiotic.

Oh and btw, this is not a strategy forum.

Pretty sure there are winning bots at both cash and sngs that beat the games a reasonable clip fwiw

People normally troll the 'standard' idiotic OPs of which yours could be considered one (no offence but general questions such as yours often show a real lack of fundementally understanding)

Instead you got lucky and got some solid advice. Choose to basically ignore it or dismiss it or just argue with it.
Ironically reinforcing why people who start threads like this get trolled (because by asking such a question they are not able to appreciate/understand the advice given due to aforementioned lack of understanding).

Now as a consequence your'e getting trolled

reread some of the advice and take it in.
Gl going forward

P.s this is not a strategy forum anyway

The best way to win at internet MTTs is to un-tie your right shoe before your left, ensure you sit down while urinating instead of standing up, and play with a golf tee behind your left ear.

Not to the extent of Deep Blue in chess. Pt I'm making is that poker isn't absolutely based on math.

This is ridiculous, I didn't expect that type of response. Obviously I don't know why I'm doing not as well that's why I'm seeking advice. Wth does "standard idiotic OPs" mean, anyway, that it's beneath you to reply? If I knew exactly what to ask based on your criteria and knew what to address, why should I bother asking ppl here? At least some posters here have identified what should be provided: e.g. sample size, limits, etc. That's the point of a thread, to go from general to specific, or should I include my entire life story in the OP for fear of excluding anything?

Pls tell me what advice I've received so far? Right now it's:
-I'm a feel player, but there is nothing constructive from that (maybe a level, I dunno what can come from that tangent)
-need more of a sample size (ok, great, either 10,000 or 5,000 for online, I only have 500+)
-get a HUD/coach (yep, considering that)
-hope that I'm not playing at the same levels live vs online (no I'm not, live is $1000 max, online is $100 max)

I originally put this in the internet forum but it was moved here. I have no idea where it should go now if even the mod is wrong.
